He’s said things like, “I know lots of marriages that are romance-free.” He embraced that culture that he adopted and was so mad that anyone had the “audacity” to want the role he gave to Robyn. The cherished, romantic, truly connected role. Kind of interesting how he accused Christine of just wanting him as a resource, for what he could do for her but that was actually Robyn. And all my uncles sent their daughters to school through college (a few are too young/college bound). So; I agree with your analysis and it makes me like Kody even less-it’s really sickening and revealing that he saw his mama’s heartbreak and neglect and got the message that it was OK instead of deciding that his family was going to be different!

First of all, Kody has sent his daughters to college for an education. He doesn’t want them pulled out of school at 12 and married at 15! Robyn gets MORE than equal time, she gets his love, the romance, the attention for her kids, the GIANT house with 6 bedrooms, while some of the other wives don’t even have houses. All that, and Robyn for some reason keeps imposing herself on Kody’s time with the other wives. He sits down to talk to Meri, Robyn FaceTimes him. He hangs out with Janelle, Robyn stops by. He’s staying the night at Christine’s house, and Robyn is texting. Then she starts with the “my kids can’t be away from him for more than a week” as a way to keep him on a leash. Of course. But it’s not necessarily about risk-taking being inherent in young children. It’s about fun and boring. Compare a tall, long slide vs. a short 6-foot long one. The long slide is more fun, but not because of the risk of seriously injuring yourself if you fell off the ladder or over the side. It’s more fun because it’s a longer ride and the feeling of weightlessness tickles your tummy. Same with the motion of higher swings, see-saws, and tilt-n-twirls.

You would think that kody would sympathize somewhat bc his mom had the same position as Christine. That’s so unfortunate. I had a large family, homeschool and raised my children with other families similar to mine. I initially was astounded when I saw the other mothers being like Christine. I will tell you I was super impressed with the freedom, confidence and independence the other children had. Once I followed their direction there was so much peace and a sense of pride to watch my children carve their own path and character. There’s a lot to say of large families and it’s benefits.

I agree with you on wrapping kids up in cotton wool. Whilst I don't agree with violence just like learning it's too high if the soft flooring is moved and they fall i feel the same way with discipline. Kids of today have no fear because adults hands are tied. My now 16 yr old was out of control at 11. Went to school 2 days a wk if that. Would leave for school and not come home for a week or 2 with zero contact. Was smoking weed, vaping, chroming, drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. The police came around one day as one of her friends didn't return home after school. She was asked if she knew where she was and she smirked and shrugged. The police asked her to go inside so they could talk to me and she just stood there smiling. I was mortified and in tears as I didn't raise her that way. I had 3 older kids in their 30s who were good kids. The police couldn't do anything like lock her in the cells for an hr or so there hands were tied until she actually broke the law. Thats when the nightmare truly began. She would convince kids at school to leave during school hrs and catch a train to another town or to sneak out of home and night and party because when they would hesitate about.getting in to trouble she would say why are you scared what are your parents going to do. They can't hurt you physically and If they ground you just run away or sneak out. Sadly she was right. Timeout was meant to decrease domestic violence, violence and crime rates. Yeah right time out raised all 3. A little fear/respect keeps humans in check. I'm so petrified of jail I'm not going to risk heading there. The younger generation don't worry about that because they can get away with most things. We moved out of the town in 2021 and she is in yr 11 and plans on going to uni to study marine biology. If we had stayed she would probably have a child or 2 now like her friends.

Sounds like you allowed your hands to be tied too much and for too long. Sounds like things are better now, that’s good. Life’s difficult.

As a kid who grew up pre seat belts and in playgrounds with hard ground I have lived to tell about it. Kids should wear seatbelts and it hurts when you fall sometimes. As a parent I didn’t put my kids into dangerous situations but I was watching and allowing them to figure things out. It hurts to fall when your little but you also don’t have as far to go to get back up.

The incest in this family is crazy. How awkward they are married step-siblings even though not raised together, your parents are still doing each other. Kody and Christine are like 4th cousins. Janelle was married to Meri’s brother. The list goes on and on. 🤢 I guess that is what you would expect in such a small community.

On Logan, makes you consider if he’s not had kids yet because of basically raising his siblings. He definitely seems to be the child that very much separated himself from the mass way before anyone else, and without having a patreon to do it 😊. Thought I understand every family has its own ideals and gender role responsibility with in the marriage. What’s unfortunate is it fell to children to fill in the gaps of kody absenteeism in fatherhood. The scene of Logan carrying his baby sister to get her ready for school was what a father would do if mom is at work. Not only do it, but soak it up too. Not only the fact Logan assumes the role as his mother needs help, the kids look to him as a father figure. Yet he’s only a child himself.

I need to go back and watch previous seasons. This story is wild. I don't like Kody, but it doesn't surprise me that he is repeating his father's behavior. Also, I know this does not have to do directly with Kody and his wives, but I find it really weird and extremely selfish that Janelle and Kodys' parents decided to get married when they should have been focusing on their adult kids.

He didn’t treat them like personal slaves. They stayed in the family for the money, fame, and family. Now, that the children are grown, they leave. No big surprise there! There were no real marriages going on with the first three from the beginning of the show! There was no real fourth marriage until after they were legally married after Meri divorced Kody.

Ok maybe slave is a harsh and totally wrong - but I saw so little effort in the raising of and providing for the children, remember he always calls the kids their kids not our kids their kids, he made the babies just didn't really take it futher than that. His place in heaven is set. He fluffed off the responsibilty to his concubines. I think Kody walked into a faith that he thought cool I get many wives and it back fired. He is into himself and only himself. And once a cute young thing enter the picture well we saw what happened.

Except polygamists don’t have health insurance typically (and I know Robin didn’t!), and in Europe they have healthcare provided. So in the US they almost have to pad everything because injury leads to devastating costs for the family, and often lawsuits for the owners of the playground, etc.

Helicopter parenting does make kids to scared to adventure. My Dad had a gas heater that sat on the ground and I would hover over my little kids and my dad corrected me thoroughly. He point out they are automatically cautious and won't go toward the heater, but if I am continously protective they will grap at the stove and that is when they would get burn. IT Worked when they slow went up to it they felt the heat and didn't want to go near it.

We didn't adjust our behavior. 😂 The strong survived. 😂 I never broke a bone no matter the fall. Jumped out of 12 ft tall swing swinging so high the chains were buckling. Did it over n over. Climbed big trees and sometimes fell. You gotta learn how to land it. My kids learned how to land it. I have to admit they didn't teach their kids how so their kids never climbed the huge trees. They climbed the smaller trees with a ladder. They didn't jump out of the swings. They are very careful. They are 18, 17, 15, 13, and 11. I'm not sure they can even swim. Their parents have to work. What you say about kids and bumping into the world is so true. ..this why Janelle and Christine's kids are all well adjusted adults .. where ad Robyn's kids are paying the price now of an overprotective life.. it's really very sad. Robyn has failed in this area trying to keep them in the house ..but at some very soon point when the older kids fall in love and want to live their own lives Robyn will intervene and more then likely ruin it for them. And that's no joke ! The 2 older girls don't date even.. it's just not a healthy relationship Robyn keeps with her girls. And someday if Robyn wants them out of the home those kids won't have a clue of how to set up their own lives let alone their own. Apartment or home!! And again the more mom holds on at sometime the more those kids may push away and stray from mom and make bad choices as well. Robyn needs to grow up just as much as kody does!!

The question to me is why Kody accepted that he gets love, but 3 of his 4 wives don't? He thinks it is OK for him to have 3 "brood mares" and 1 love interest? On what planet does a thinking, caring person think that is cool - regardless of what his father did. And Kody only saw his father's relationships as an adult - so he did not really grow up that way - he had plenty of years without polygamy in his life.
