I’m a female and the more I listen to your videos, the more I feel like I’m the man and my husband is the wife in the relationship… I’m the logical fixer and he just likes to stay things without a solution. I usually have no idea why he’s upset and I have to think for a couple of days dissecting what he said to get to the core of his emotions. He was telling me how upset he was that I woke him up in the middle of the night and he didn’t drop his defensiveness for days no matter what I did or said until i said “I am proud of you. “ That had nothing to do with what he was saying but I managed to read between the lines. My ex used to tell me all the time that he’s annoyed that I’m “always right.” Back then, I didn’t really understand how that was a problem but I understand now. I make people feel unsafe by having solutions and being logical all the time (I also like to be thorough so that there’s no holes in my logic, which is probably really annoying as well). I need to work on myself more as I still catch myself wondering what the point of my husband’s stories and have to fight the urge to interrupt him.

Man I’ve been thinking that from watching KZbin videos I could get to step 4 reconciliation but I’m not sure. I could be wrong but I feel like maybe I’m not as great as think and I might be teetering between step 0 and step 1 over and over again!!! I’ve gotta be missing something because what Liam described is not where I’m at. I gotta get 4k and try to do the full thing. I need to grow. My partner seemed to be coming back then she just up and moved to her moms. We still talk I helped being patient and loving from a distance. She says she loves me but is depressed and I am seeing that maybe she feels better being depressed away from me. Man I need some guidance for sure.

At the end there. What would you suggest regarding the kids talk? if my partner is 25 and she isn’t sure she wants kids, or even adamant about it. I’m into having a family eventually, when im 35 or whatever (29) now. How do you not let that affect reconciliation if it’s a perceived incompatibility? im not fussed about kids right now, and she grew up in a broken home - i think a lot of it is emotional safety for her. Care to spare a thought?

In this case, they were in contact, but we have many interviews with people who did not. e.g. Scott or Spencer. Again, you can come up with 1 million reasons why you think yours is unique, but at the end of the day, with the right principles, nothing is unique.
