I adopted a registered, neutered Chinese Crested Powder Puff and he was the sweetest little poppin ever. Most people didn't even realize they had a full fur version of the Chinese Crested. Little guy live to 15 (2 weeks away from 16). Loved my little man and miss him every day. I, he, was a foster fail. LOL

@@lizmcb4959no, it’s just skin hyperpigmentation that can be from inflammation, allergies, excessive friction, or sun exposure. It won’t change the fur color at all. I have a white chihuahua mix that also seems to potentially have alopecia X like Maxwell, which is also known as black skin syndrome. She looks white in the areas where she has fur but when she gets a bath and the fur gets wet you can see the hidden black splotches of the skin underneath it

I brought home a ginger cat a few years back to foster. He was a hot mess when I got him. I knew 10 minutes after we got home and settled into the foster room that I was going to keep him. My husband figured it out about a month into fostering. Tig Meowrow is one of the gentlest souls I have ever met. He is just the best cat! (I have a very soft spot for gingers!)

Years ago Vanessa, back in England, I had a terrier cross, some border collie in him somewhere according to his colouring. His flanks began to go bald. A very astute vet diagnosed testicular cancer and Basil was duly neutered. We were assured it had not spread beyond the testicles. His hair all grew back in time and he was perfectly well and lived on for many years. I loved that little dog.
