Many people just write checks to corporations, and they will never care individually about their renters. A caring group of landlords like Randy and Amanda and their investors/supporters can immensely add to the quality of life for people who need to rent. This is the way to live, caring for your fellow neighbor.

Dude, for real. You hear these heroes telling their community how to maintain their own sewer systems?! Most professionals don't want you to know where this stuff is located because they want to charge you to fix it. They know you are all capable of learning how to take care of your own home, if you're willing to spend your time learning how to. You are amazing. Randy, Amanda, and their team won't stop telling you that fact. You can have a home and care for it. ❣

@@ltylers3788 Do you have facts to prove it? YT also independently deletes comments. I have seen this comment before. Dude if you don't like people or this company, why are you here? Thanks, Janet, for saying the same thing I was thinking! I always think of myself as a tough old broad, but I feel the same way, watching them. I actually got a sweet chill when that lady went up and gave them each the necklaces and the Hawaiian blessing. These two are truly loved, and deserve it. They're both in it neck deep, with no signs of letting up, despite a lot of challenges. There's a real sweetness to this community, all coming together from so many different places. I feel protective of all of them, just from watching this on KZbin videos. That's why I get so mad when that little tribe of down-talkers get busy in the comments, and it's always the same ones. Amanda, tell Randy "No Social Media After Dinner!", because you can tell it's really buggin' him. I'm in no way ready to buy a tiny home right now, but I was really scared that if anything ever happened to my husband, I'd be in bad shape finding a place to live. Running across these videos gave me a sense of peace and hope that this kind of thing could work if I was left alone. THAT'S worth more than gold.

Reminds me of the story of the two wolves... One evening a grandfather told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old man simply replied, "The one you feed."

I know I'm not the only person who feels God calling me to the ITH community. There is something very special happening there... so many kind hearts coming from all over to be neighbors to each other. It's the way my neighborhood used to be when I bought my current home 23 years ago. It used to be all homeowners, with a few renters sprinkled in, and we knew each other, helped each other. But over time, as those homeowners downsized and moved away, short term renters moved in who don't speak to each other, don't watch out for each other. My heart longs for that community again, and God has answered my prayers by pointing out where I can find it. We're coming, it might take a year, but we'll get there. Can't wait to be a part of this positive ITH community❣️

We lived in Fla. In a senior mobile home community. People helped and watched out for each other. Had a great pool and clubhouse. Many get together’s. A COMMUNITY. Just like ITH is trying to do. - Then a corporation bought all the parks in the area. Raised rents way up. Cut services and amenities. Literally RUINED the community feel. Folks could not afford to live there anymore. Many new residents moved in. Did not continue the community feel. Neighbors didn’t keep the feel of the community. Don’t think ITH will do this. Sure hope they don’t. But corporate greed is a REAL DANGER to this excellent community.

You might consider different types of trees. Redbuds do not grow super tall and they bloom earliest. Dogwoods bloom next depending on the weather. Weaping cherries bloom in spring and are fabulous. Crepe myrtles grow well here in East TN and bloom in mid summer. Mixing up the trees could give you different bloom throughout the spring and summer. Some smaller maples with red and yellow fall color would be fabulous!

I know I don't live in the Grove but I saw the fences and I think it was mentioned that they were wood. A good preservative sprayed on the fence first and I know this is extra cost..but painted white as it will take time for vines to grow and white will give it a cleaner look. Then when the paint starts to fad or peal it will be showen through the vines and give it a patina look and give the fence more life. Good blessings to all we out here would always love to see how you are growing. You don’t need heaters under the house…the spot lights, heat lamp lights, work great putting them set up in the corners along the sides…depends how big your rig is…. We’d stay in our fifthwheel in 20 below weather and the lights alone with hay piled up around the trailer stopped pipes from freezing. .. and definitely tie them down.

I put down artificial grass in the yard of my last townhouse yard so there wasn't any water wasted or mowing to do. That might be a good idea for these little yards.

English ivy is invasive, but it has invaded my yard from the neighbours garden. I now have a green lawn that I don’t need to mow. Also if planted along the black wall of your building, it’ll be green in no time.

Another hint for wifi would be a company called Homefi. They are cheaper and work well just about everywhere. I have it in Wisconsin and my daughter has it in Colorado. I have a limited budget and this is so much more cost effective

Suggestion/question for Randy. Since you may not put up a privacy wall between the Grove and the building, could thosr of us who have a home by the building have a privacy fence put up between the house and the building? Yhat would give us some privacy and still allow egress from the Grove via the sidewalk.
@raysun2be
@raysun2be Жыл бұрын
@@CapysGardenShop it's always good to have more than one way out, that's why there should be an egress window in sleeping lofts. I agree, they could still put up the privacy fence, but put gates in at each road for egress. I find it amusing that you are so upset about the living conditions there, I guarantee you that we all knew and are ok with the spacing. They gave us maps,, and Randy stated from the beginning they were close together and the lot sizes were 25x40. We will be just fine. I like it there and have met some great neighbors. :))
