Glossary:
Dissociative identity disorder (DID) - Dissociative condition in which a person has 2 or more personalities.
Multiple personality disorder (MPD) - Previous name/more common name for DID.
Fragmented - Broken up or Split into.
Alter - Single separate personality
Host - Current personality in charge/ person diagnosed.
Inner World - the space in which your alters live when they arent fronting.
NPCs - (Non Playable Characters) People in the inner world that do not take over the body.
Co-Conscious - when 2 or more alters are fronting at the same time.
Fronting - When a personality is forward and taking control of the body.
Co-Hosting - When 2 or more alters take claim of the body and both are the hosts.
Co - Fronting - When 2 or more alters take control of the body.
Original - The alter who was created when the body was born.
Face claim - A photo to show how each alter views themselves.
Non - Human - Alters that dont class themselves as a human.
Little - Alter under a certain age. Usually 12. They are child/toddler and Infant alters.
Fictive - Alters based on/believe they are a Fictional character.

My dads world is very similar to yours with just one big common room and then bedrooms for most of them individually, but he has one alter (sleeper) who sleeps by the door to the body. Thank you for sharing. My dad was never able to function with them all (26), some don’t even speak English, and it makes me sad but also very happy to see you doing so well together. He just showed up in my life again about 2 years ago, but he has dementia now and I don’t think they switch anymore. I respect completely that he doesn’t even want his others mentioned anymore, but that means I can’t learn about him or even tell him that I accept him, all of the hims, and hers, and even Rafe his “mask” alter. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to learn about his world through you and yours. It means so much to me.

Hey Bobo & Co., thank you for helping to spread awareness about DID! I/we also have DID, and we have also been trying to educate people online about it. How did you find out that you had it? I really don't want to self-diagnose but I think I may have it or something similar.

If you think you might have DID, my advice to you would be to try to find a therapist who specializes in DID and have them test you. That's how we found out for sure that we had DID, but that was only after being misdiagnosed for nine years and five different therapists, all of whom had no clue how to even recognize DID when it was literally staring them in the face, let alone how to treat it. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find a DID specialist, as there are far too few of them, but you will save yourself a LOT of heartache if you start with a DID specialist, rather than going to just any therapist and hoping they know about DID. If you're interested, I can tell you more of our story of how we first discovered that there were more than one of us in this body, but I don't have time to tell that whole story right at the moment. I hope you can find a good therapist and get the help you need. Even if you don't have DID, I hope you can get the proper diagnosis for whatever you are going through. Take care! - Leyna

I did the same sort of thing back in the 90s as you did with your hair. I'd always find ways to mark my different parts of self. Usually would cover half my face with my hair because I felt like a part of a person.

I don’t understand You lost your original personality and has now be taken over by an alter? I have always wondered if people with DID could forget or lose who they where before they split. That’s kind of scary really to lose who you once where. It is also scary and horrible that such trauma happened to you. That made the split happen.

Shayla C Basically the person who i was when i was born, she grew up to age 6 or 7 and then decided it was too much so she went inside, i, another alter who was created a long time before to help her, took her place as number one.

We tend to not actually develop a “whole” unified “original” personality, since most of use “split” before our brain was developed enough to do so. In my case, the trauma was so horrific and began so early, and continued until I left home at 17, that I don’t even remember my “original” personality, because my alters took over to block the traumas out. I’ll flashback to things under stress, but idk it’s hard to explain. It’s like watching a movie where I’m watching myself, as opposed to experiencing the trauma first hand. We can try to make our alters work together, to develop a somewhat unified primary personality, but that doesn’t always work, and pretty much anything can trigger a switch.

Cassandra Torres yeah thats right! My job was to deal with the trauma for her like most alters do. Im quite a rarity in the fact that i know of all the trauma that the body experienced because i am the alter who dealt with it. Most people dont know of what happened to them.

We started off with just a lake and then that turned into a big common room, but it has sense expanded into a whole little world (the lake came back in a new form plus a field, a beach, and a couple buildings), so inner worlds can evolve over time I guess.

The inner world reminds me of a dream I had about parts of my personality being represented as different personalities. They had their own rooms and I explored everything. I don’t have dissociative identity disorder but because I had that dream I can kind of relate to your explanations

Hey! Thanks for watching! I have have the same age as the body because both me and Rebecca were the same age when i was created. I age with the body. I was chosen as the new host as Texas was a full grown adult and i was the same age as the body. It only seemed more appropriate for me to become host. And we dont have any communication with her. But that may change one day :)

For me it's a bit different. 1. Same answer, same age as the body. 2. It wasn't really a discussion exactly. When I first started hosting I didn't even realize I was a different alter. I'm basically exactly like the original except for one major difference. Donald, the original host has a distorted view of reality. Like he sees and fights monsters that aren't really there and this was fine when we were little and everyone thought it was a game but when we got older we needed a host that could differentiate between what's real and what's fictional. I got a lot of his memories so I could replace him and that's why I innitally thought we were the same alter... Until I found some evidence that he still thinks he's a power ranger when I freaking hate that show. 3. I don't really need to commutate with him because again except for the fact that I hate Power Rangers while he thinks he actually is one everything else about us is pretty much the same. Everything he wanted that isn't related to that show is something I want too. He does occasionally still front... Mainly I had issues when the new movie came out cause Power Rangers crap was every where which made it very difficult to avoid that particular trigger. Plus my ex's boyfriend likes that show. So yeah once I knew that it was a trigger that's how I realized his memories weren't actually mine.

In truth i have known i wasn't alone in my head for a long time and i passed it off as other things till i was 14 or halfway through 15 when i started categorizing things in my head to gain control when i started losing grip and anxiety and depression really spiked and i started getting more in depth with what i was doing to my body in the sense of my adhd medication (highly likely have psychosis from my meds since they are stimulants and a different form of Ritalin which really punts it at ya) I classified James first and he is like a protector and he used to be my masculine self when i had male days (im bigender) and i merged the male with me and he kept his personality (Shy and blunt but keeps himself together and protects me and my younger side and holds the subconscious side back and ill explain the younger and subconscious later but their names are Wyle and Conny) He doesn't really come out much and perfers to keep Conny at bay and comfort Wyle. We all are ok with information release and we only are worried from information that could direct people to our location exactly. He likely formed when i was with my cousins who were fostering me mostly to keep their broken relationship together and its probably repressed but it was either their son or the husband that had abused me in the bad touching feeling and i was with them in years of 1-2 and my dad regained custody of me at age 3. Since he is more protective and i always saw males as protective he wass male and that's kinda why i had him as my male side for a while. Wyle is the younger and they fluctuate in age from 6-12. They have the most obvious appearance since they perfer typing how they talk and they have mild or moderate stutters maybe severe i don't know how to classify it yet, but verbal tics arent the only thing because they have motor tics which is shaking, twitching, and they tic their head to the right. They have consistent things of repeating Hi and at the younger side of the spectrum their speech is less coherent with more Hi's and stutters and blanking, older side they can speak better but their stutters and tics persist but the Hi ing calms down. They likely formed when my dad started reacting with yelling and belts because my dad was born in 56' so he is really old fashioned but he never goes off the handle with the belt. Along with bullies coming for me because i never acted my age it developed them to be more sensitive, not being able to take insults or jabs easily and they usually give up control to me or James, also in 2014 my cousin passed and in the same area i had made a mistake and emotionally hurt a friend ny accidentally breaking a doll so Wyle took it pretty hard and gets moments they edge to bad things and i usually have to get some control to go into my closet or cover my face with a mask to put them in a space long enough to calm them to sleep. They are very kind and they try to make people happy and in return it makes them happy and they also effect my voice since i always had a grip on how to manipulate the sound of my voice. Also Wyle has after effects. They usually leave me with shakes and stutters but i just need to get used to them more. Conny is last defence and she is human but she is like an actual psychopathic mass murderer. She looks human but there is no humanity in her. She is my actual subconscious and she finds joy in the gruesome and graphic. Its mainly a revenge thing but she tries to get rid of me and have full control of my body and she is very very murderous. I would not let her have half a half hour because i just know she would attempt to kill every one in the house. Along with her liking to physically torture because it's "fun" and "looks pretty" when she's done she is a master at mentally breaking people so i don't let her out if me or James can keep her back. Now the three are all at front a huge majority of the time mostly to keep me safe or because they like control. They do have varying levels of strength Wyle is the strongest out of us 4 and he sometimes slips into co control without me knowing Im the second strongest and Conny is pretty matched with me James is the weaker but he usually has me or Wyle help get Conny out before anything bad happens and he is able to get control of limbs easier. Also forgot to mention that I'm the host and the original. I likely wont be leaving ever cause Conny made me desensitized to a lot of things. Oh and when James is in control my left arm starts hurting alot and when Conny is in control my heart starts beating rapidly. And when they all want control i just feel like i have a minor dull stinger in the back of my head I have yet to fully image and make the inner world but i plan to at some point Its fun when this happens 23 days from becoming 16

I just subscribe to your channel and I saw you on the Enjelica scuffs video and I had to subscribe because it was a really great interview between you two and love to collaborate and I am recently within the last five months or so unofficially diagnosed with D ID I also have borderline personality disorder and bipolar to PTSD generalized anxiety disorder her and I also have insomnia having all that is very difficult because I never know which one is going to be a problem let alone my alters love to call consciously be out with me and one of my alters got me into a little bit of a problem to where I ended up being put in full restraints at the hospital when I had a breakdown and those have been frequent over the last two years and my BPD is my primary diagnosis and the unofficially diagnosed is DID and the others are Cole occurring and each time when I was in the hospital the first one was for two weeks second one was for about a week and the third time was for three weeks and then a couple of times maybe two that I was just briefly in the emergency room where they released me because I wasn’t quite bad enough to be admitted most of them have been sore from self harm to suicidal ideation‘s

"Altering" and or "altered" would imply that Alter is an action. You cannot "alter", they are Alters. The correct term would be "switch". When i "switch" to a new alter is when a new alter then fronts. And no, i dont remember what happens when we switch. I remember up until i get dissociated. Hope that makes sense! :)

I honestly think it’s fascinating. Your mind has literally made another person to protect you from whatever it what that scared you so bad you felt you couldn’t not even deal with it. Personally, I know a few people, myself including, that would actually want the ability to do something like this. You shouldn’t be ashamed. There’s nothing wrong with you; ALL of our brains would do this if we went though traumatising things all the time.
