I have did as well, I have 8 active, one semi active and many that don't come out at all. We range from age 24 down to 4 months old. The baby is the only active one that ages. He need to be fed out of a bottle. Oddly enough he can suck, swallow and breath at the same time. None of us can do that but him. I actually tried and damn near choked to death lol Us older ones are a bit harder to tell apart. We don't sound all that different from each other but our look, style and how we move all changes. We have two teenagers and they're normal teens so they're pretty easy to tell apart. There's two children ages 7 and 5. Again they're easily told apart from the rest of us. They walk, talk and look very much like children. Next is the toddlers who are 1 and 2 years old. They are easy to tell apart because well they have tantrums, walk and talk like babies and need allot of care. it's not a easy thing to have, yet it's not hard at the same time. the hardest part is public opinion of us, being called fakes by stranger's... things like that.

Healthepet veterinaria sometimes when the alters are in the "driver's seat" the "original" is not always conscious so there may have been a lot of times when the original would be in what is referred to as an amnesia state and not know what they ate what they did or who they were with for hours and sometimes days at a time. Most people that get diagnosed usually don't get a proper diagnosis until they are adults and have lived with the disorder for years while being treated for other things.

I'd read that people with DID could have changes in their voice depending on the alter present, but merely reading about it, it's hard to actually imagine. And this video showcases that perfectly, in both tone & accents. My mind is straight blown. I think it's so awesome also they all know each other so well. Virtually every answer was the same across the board. Its fascinating how the mind can work in an effort to protect the "host."

Prince Peaches that's why we love Jess, Jake, Jamie, Ed, and Ollie. They show what the majority of us are like. Most multiples are kind, decent, wonderful people. Unfortunately the media and even the psychological community tend to portray otherwise.
@ChronicallyCurious6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's just the media sucking. PDs (personality disorders) are mostly shown in a negative light. It's why so many people get freaked out and are really afraid if they think someone has DID or Schizophrenia (which a lot of people know so little about they oftentimes mix them up). But it's so much more likely for someone with one of these disorders to be a victim of a crime rather than a perpetrator and sometimes their disorders manifest as a result from a crime, or at least trauma. It's very disheartening and unsettling that it's how these things are portrayed. But it's a good note to remember to take everything with a grain of salt, because portrayals are very likely to be way way off from what actually happens for people who have these disorders and live with them day to day. I'm a psychology student and a writer and I'm very interested in trying to create a more realistic representation of DID, so I've been looking at the various portrayals in media. And while shows and movies may be entertaining (most recently Split), they are pretty damaging, increasing the stigma and stereotypes. It's going to be difficult to write something to be as accurate as possible (I mean, from a storytelling perspective, it's quite a few personalities sharing one physical body, and how do I show transitions and discovering new alters and code it so readers can know who's speaking up without having to be bashed over the head with it over and over?) but I really think it's something that's worthwhile. The more people who have the realization you had, the better, and accurate portrayals can do so much good to counter the bad that are continually pumped out to the masses. This is even more difficult than handling an adaption of the life of someone I knew with Lou Gehrig's. But worth it. Keep learning more information, keep curious, and at any point you can dispel some of these myths, I hope you speak up and help lessen the stigma just a bit.

Unfortunately DID isnt something you're born with or you can make up. Real DID is caused by very extreme childhood trauma that has been repeated over a period of time. So, inorder to deal/cope during those traumatic events, the brain goes into survival mode and thus creating the different altars to help you to forget or protect you. Some even have a bit of amnesia during the altars and cant remember what happened because the altar took over.

The C.I.A did this in 1970 and tried to create alters in regular people it was called project mk ultra.
@MsMisfits6 жыл бұрын
That is very interesting since regardless of personalites, they still all grew up in the same region and body so how/why would one of them pick up an American accent? You see what I mean? Not saying it's faked but it's not average. Changing in tone and vanacular is. Not total change in region. Try and think of 5 different people growing up in the same house and room. One wouldn't develop a different accent. Accents are based on region of origin. Just a little confused by that..

@kacreative227 жыл бұрын
It's one thing to try and focus on the positives and there's the other...people commenting "how they like your different personalities accents and how some don't abide by the gender norms"..like completely just trying to sugar coat that it's a serious issue.
@MultiplicityAndMe7 жыл бұрын
+Say I Love You Anime Because all negativity does is bode to the fact that we shouldn't be able to function or live and have relatively normal lives. The negativity makes me ill, but trying to be positive about my experiences helps me cope. Further more, it's breaking down the stereotype of people's idea of this terribly scary psycho killer illness, but the whole point in this disorder is a defence mechanism - a way to help a traumatised child cope without the memories attached. This is the way I choose to help break the stigma and I apologise if that doesn't suit your expectations
@kacreative227 жыл бұрын
K. I don't think you get what I'm trying to say. It's fine to be positive and I understand everyone has different ways of coping..But I'm saying that it's not good for people to be commenting stuff that possibly could be more harming than helpful. Like saying that you're disorder is cute or applauding the fact that each different one has a unique sounding voice. Like this is a serious issue is it not? then why do people make it sound like it's something that you want to do to be cute or funny?

i'm glad most of the comments are nice but it's disheartening to see all the assholes... i never thought it was fake in the first place but when a friend who has DID and is high-functioning (and not "out" - i'm one of the like, three people who know) told me about it, SO MUCH STUFF made sense all of a sudden! lol. like them not remembering whole conversations that were totally distinct. or inconsistent behaviors. one alter is SUPER neat, most are kinda 'meh', but one is really messy and disorganized. so i was always massively confused when behaviors or personality traits like this clashed. but now it makes sense! :) and for people saying jess can "easily switch" or whatever - you know it's different for every system, right? yikes. and it really can depend on the alters, too! like my aforementioned friend. things we do together, or conversations we have, can trigger or bring out different alters. and some alters want to come out, but the presenting alter doesn't want them to and will try to prevent them from taking over. like i was talking about something and one particular alter was really interested but another alter was completely fascinated and pushed the first alter out of the way and questioned me all night and the first alter was so pissed lol. so the next time that alter was dominant and we were hanging out, they finally got to ask the questions THEY wanted to ask! most of the time with my friend, multiple alters are "around" while the others are asleep so to speak. my friend has 20+ alters and i've knowingly met only five? of them. and again, since they're in hiding about having DID and me knowing - they love to come out around me whenever they can. if we're hanging out one-on-one they're always highly amused whenever i try to figure out which alter i'm talking to when it's not one of the super obvious ones lol. anyway omg this is so long, sorry!!! thank you for this video! it was really fun, and i'm glad to read that some people at least learned something! :) i also enjoy seeing how different systems can work, since my knowledge of DID mainly comes from a few books, studying psychology in college, and my friend. i LOVE the three alters we got to see, though i am curious about ollie! does he not come out very often? and jess, do you guys get switching headaches? my friend has really terrible ones sometimes :( and ok, i'm shutting up now!!

@aliasanew33986 жыл бұрын
It is very real. But you are not born with it. It develops over time as a defense mechanism. This disorder is often caused by childhood trauma that keeps happening over and over, such as repeated sexual, physical, or emotional abuse. Of course, the causes are often much more multifaceted than this, but I’m giving a brief explanation. It's real but anyone can snap out of it with proper treatment. I guess some people just don't want the voices in their head to go away.

Unless the "host" has actually studied a different language or fluently speaks another language then that is virtually impossible -__- . There is 1 brain. I understand the mind comes up with alter ego's but come on. It's just like people saying that they can have alters that are a different race or skin color than when you were actually born with. That is bs because as a white person you could not possible have the experience of any person of color living in the world (i.e colorism, systematic oppression, discrimination based of race.) It is virtually impossible and politically incorrect. I condemn that so much. I'm just being a realist. No one is born with the memories of other individuals. The personalities develop over time for a clear cause.
@millygrace34016 жыл бұрын
Allurminate yes but an alter can come from a person that they met or they wish “existed” like a kind of figure that they missed o they wanted to have in their lifes. A friend , a sister, a brother so it can come in every form or skin color. Although so many peoples affected by D.I.D says that alters can talk languages that the host can’t speak. Trust me this is not the case to be kind of “realistic” these peoples really lives with this , and if we wanted to be “realistic” this shouldn’t be even real. Trust me i don’t think you would like one day to wake up and feeling like you have to share your body with other “person”

I've heard certain alters can require glasses or one alter may be ADHD and another alter isn't. there have been rare cases where an alter has been blind where the "main person" can see totally fine.

Did you just get that from the movie Split??
@MultiplicityAndMe7 жыл бұрын
No that's a fact, type in dissociative identity disorder blind or Margo and you'll see an example on KZbin

So, is the blindness psychological? I'm confused.

Where was Ollie? Did he not wanna participate?

Lilac Shellshocker that’s what I was wondering
@lizzistorm74745 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's because Ollie is so young?

Same

I’m not sure about this but I think it’s true that until a little while ago, I believe that Jess and the older boys didn’t really want to show Ollie because he was so young and they wanted to keep him safe because younger alters or “littles” can often face confrontation.
@ABC-ho4te5 жыл бұрын
"Littles" can be manipulated and forced into doing things that they dont want to do. If someone tells a little that they know their name, their age, their sibling etc etc info, they can have them do whatever. Littles have the same mental capacity as actual young kids and that's why people with DID don't disclose any information on their littles. Its safer that way and helps keep the system safe.

You forget they are all in the same body. They all are so different

Watching videos like this really blows my mind and I still don't really understand DID. My brain automatically tells me that people in this videos are just acting and that having alters like that is not possible. I don't even wanna say that I don't believe you, I just think it's really hard to grasp if you don't have DID yourself or if you know somebody very well that has DID.

I thought I was 'crazy' for years, that I had voices in my head with losing time (I just convinced myself that my memory was AWFUL) and even though I had heard of M.P.D (back in the day :P) - I didn't believe it myself until I actually was told by others so I can understand not being able to believe it. ~ Hannah.

I understand, I feel the same way! It is indeed very hard to grasp for me as well.
@Nonnitot7 жыл бұрын
I feel that way too! I don't fully grasp how it's possible, but I don't think it's fake. I believe it but I can't explain it basically xD

as a therapist who makes videos on this topic i can state that i have worked with this disorder and believe it to be very real.... it can be caused by fracturing of personality caused by traumatic incidents

Do the other alters maintain the same affection and attraction to your husband as Jess does?
@amberroper13206 жыл бұрын
I was curious as to how, Jess's husband deals with living with the guys too. Maybe another topic to explore ... ? {please)

this question has been answered on their social media - jamie and ed both have a loving relationship with gaz! ollie sees him as a sort of father figure and jake sees him as a good friend :)
@CuteKovuKitten6 жыл бұрын
Im a different system but my alters have different relationships with my datemate. Me and Roxx are romantically involved with him, Xavier is friends with him, and Maomi views him as an older brother/father figure. I am sure it is similar for Jess's system!
@johnsanchez89326 жыл бұрын
@@CuteKovuKitten what's like having one of your alters be romantically involved with your datemate? Not to be rude but what happens if your datemate wants to be sexually intimate but Xavier or Maomi is the host at that time?
@TheAmazingGrace26 жыл бұрын
Not to be rude but how does it make the male alters feel having the female body (female anatomy)?
@shiwanichandra66023 жыл бұрын
It's quite funny when you're realizing that you know the answer of ALMOST every question, coz you know the system for a long time and you're watching the video just to check that you know them. ❤ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜 LOTS OF LOVE GUYS!!! your system is amazing, I hope you'll keep on making beautify videos as always and please stay safe and healthy 💜 💙 💚 💛 🧡 ❤

How do the boys react to having girl parts?
@caligqla21076 жыл бұрын
Dude, RIGHT??
@wackywally694206 жыл бұрын
Well, they are technically they same person, they've always been in the same body
@Drawcandy6 жыл бұрын
Ed, Jamie and Ollie are very dissociated from the body so it doesn't bother them too much but Jake has feelings of gender dysphoria and doesn't like being a girl.
@tiffanyl22086 жыл бұрын
I would imagine they feel the same way as anyone who feels differently than what they see.
@mauriamonette6 жыл бұрын
I’ve noticed each personality views them self as a different physical appearance, so when an alter is a guy they may not see a women when looking in the mirror
