The voters should have chosen Republican Ray Strauss in the primary election. Gosar is responsible for 2 of the largest federal land grabs in AZ, Planet Ranch and Oak Flat. He lied to constituents at the March 2016 London Bridge Republican Women's meeting when he said that Planet Ranch beneficiary Freeport McMoRan didn't donate to his campaign (they donated $20K)and lied again when he said La Paz County wasn't involved in the resulting lawsuit brought by Mohave County for the resulting transfer of water rights. He blocks many people on FB, including Republicans, just like our AZ Representative Steven Paul Mosley. Maybe Mosley learned it from Gosar. Our District is screwed without better representation at the state and federal level. does..

I don't know if it's true and the only way I personally could find out is if someone had a list of all the organizations relating to Charlottesville, and you can easily search his page if he funded it. He (appears to be) very open and honest about the sketchy things he funds. Like Politifact (Poynter) which is basically just a KZbin page created to defend him. It's fine to defend yourself but the way he tries to be slick about it is SO suspicious. But like I said, this is pretty bad. Vice has done an amazing job at making this guy look like a nut job. It exists for him to communicate with his constituents, not as a platform for people who oppose him. He has the right to remove anything on that page, so long as there are other means to reach him. His constituent can say he didn't answer my question and removed my comment on her own facebook page. The court is wrong. A congressman (or anyone) is not required to read (or respond to) their facebook. They have the right to control it. If I were to post on this elle person's facebook page that she and her husband fabricated stories of crimes to get attention for themselves, she can remove it, even though it is true.

In the 19th century congressman used the ''congressional frank'' (the right to send mail to their constituents for free) to send seeds to their farmer constituents (in other words a bribe). Today, congressmen use the frank to communicate with their constituents, usually right before the election and ALWAYS with all the wonderful things they have, are and will continue to do. Their opponents don't get an equal chance to do that. The free frank has been around since 1789 (and before that in England) It serves a purpose. Even if it is self serving, it's about the IDEA of communicating with constituents.The congressmen choose how to use the free frank. There are rare occasions where they have used it in ways that the congress has censured, but it's pretty much a privilege of office. Trump puts out a tweet (in his case it may be a private, not government account) Should he be required to spend all day responding to the 10,000 responses? For WHATEVER reason this congressman doesn't want to respond to this woman through facebook. He doesn't want to give her a forum so he blocks her. For security, he won't meet with people without an appointment. The woman can send him a letter (sending him a brick does seem to me a lot like a threat to throw a brick) and his office can send her back a letter saying thank you Ms. X the congressman's office has received your letter. That's the extent to which he is required to fully perform his office. Whatever you think of this congressman's opinions he is correct in seeing that social media is being used to harass and intimidate others. We shouldn't want people we elect to office to sacrifice their personal integrity to public approval. We aren't a democracy. We are a republic. An issue like this shows why our founders made that distinction.
