I couldn't agree with you more, however this is a question you'll possibly never fully grasp unless you're like the ugliest kid in your grade at school. Cause at the very bottom of the food chain, even the most lowlife of predators can still look like a step up to someone with zero self esteem. And I have a theory for why but its just speculation on my part. So to understand why someone would pay him expecting success, we first need to know what these people want. And I think it's a bit of a presumptive call to say they all just want some easy cha-cha with an attractive girl, but I also will say that because I know for certain that a proportion of this "thirsty" community _is_ basically only concerned with that. So according to my estimations, you've got someone with low self-esteem who is also hypocritically shallow and overly picky about the looks of their prospective partners (ie its ok for them to be what they consider completely unappealing, but not for their partner). So someone who wants that is probably going to overvalue physical appearance as a trait in general. Which means if they see a guy who is saying "ill get you heaps of girls" and he is slim and even vaguely symmetrical, there's a decent chance they'll internalise that he knows something they dont. Or he's doing something simple that if they could do it, sure maybe they won't get ALL the girls but maybe they'll get one that's "good enough". Either way is misguided because these people are starting their search with the wrong mindset. And this is why these people target the lowest most vulnerable groups in society - the only opponents they can come out on top of. It's so scummy, that if this dude fell face first into the toilet, the grime would clean _him_ out, like "its a toilet not a toxic landfill, have some respect" 😂

In a way these people are a reflection of those around them; if someone has been treated poorly due to their appearance or class then they can internalize that shallowness and assume that to be successful you need to abandon all honesty and empathy and place all of your energy into a materialistic pursuit of gain and acquisition.
