As one whom won awards for the windows I designed back in the 80's & early 90's, I can really appreciate the creative artistry that it takes to produce these fleeting contemporaneous works, even if I do tend to INTENSIONALLY judge them with a rather radical critical eye.

⁉⁉ I thought Bergdorf Goodman bit the dust with SO many other 1st class, luxury stores years ago! Amazing.....very happy they're still in existence, although I'll neverrrrrrrr have the money to go to New York let alone shop there.

Your eye is drawn to them because - hello - but you’re left feeling less-than. They use creativity cruelly.

Qué bien si ampliaras esos conceptos. Son un interesante enfoque porque es la razón de ser oculta de ciertas formas de cultura dirigida a pocos.

Stop culturally appropriating CHRISTMAS! It’s not the “holiday” season-IT’S CHRISTMAS season! Enough of your liberal nonsense. Grow up!

Nothing ever catches my eye in the windows. I just go inside a shop.

The windows have nothing to do with Christmas or even the holidays! It is a shame they can't celebrate Christmas.
@cak81317 күн бұрын
What do these windows have to do with Christmas? I’m not even talking the religious aspect of the holiday, I don’t even see any seasonal hints like a snowman, a pine tree, a gingerbread man… something. Pigeons, taxis, a praying mantis?? What the h**l do those have to do with Christmas? Sadly, this seems to be a trend not only here in New York City but internationally, too. I saw a video of the windows at Harrods in London and they were just a series of advertisements for a high end wool clothing company. Seems like the heart and soul as well as the imagery has gone out of Christmas.

Because everyone can assemble snowman or pine tree, there’s not much intrinsic creativity involved by just amplifying the most common theme there. The windows celebrate the city the community, not just generic scenery you can see everywhere.
