Camas Valley, Oregon, those old valve springs are basically a rev limiter so should be good as long as he keeps 5.5-6 qts in it.

yeah, the couple times I've ran stock sized pans over the years I noticed they're sensitive to oil pressure fluctuations in the corners if the oil gets too low so I ran 6 qts. @@CherezianRacing

Did you do a compression test? If the cylinders are less than 120, there's no point. Other than that, it's about keeping it cool and not over revving it.

It is not. Ran about 5 races and then locked up. However it was seriously overheated so not really sure what the actual cause was.

It all depends on the gear. If he runs anything over a 6.83, it will probably blow up the first time out.

It's hard to say I have a imca stock car motor that has over 80 nights on it and it has never been opened up or rebuilt since was built which was 2008 also from wichita ks

@@CherezianRacing it back before imca thought it was smart to mill the heads it's literally a 9.5.1 motor with 487x heads and 109 cam speed pro 2 valve pistons with a speedway race pan and of course same intake you just got

It will last longer than you think if not wrapped up too tight, basically same thing as a 602 crate and we spin them 6200 for 100 plus races.....rod failure will be the demise....watching from Eastern Iowa

Spring or valve will go bad. 1st or 2nd race.just depends how hard it's ran. But one or the other will go bad jma😮

Merry Christmas from Alabama. Depending on the gear ratio how long the motor will last. Assuming it is a stock rear end and he will run it 2nd gear, it will blow (broken rod) night 2 during the heat race.
