My thoughts exactly. I can see some buying it to display for advertising but really like that they are going to tear it apart and use knowledge gained to make improvements or justify engineering decisions. Living in Ohio I can't see any truck surviving our metal-dissolving winter roads so it's amazing to see anything with this many miles as here it would be a pile of rust.

Vehicles are like women: miles and years are just a number. How the hold up is a matter of driving/living conditions and service/care. That was a mechanically injected diesel. 12v to the fuel shutoff solenoid and that’s it. No ECU. I’ve pulled mechanical injection diesels out of barns after having sat for 15 years and they still run on the old diesel in the tank. Top gear’s test was entertaining, but hardly profound. And btw, that was a Hilux, which we don’t get. The Taco isn’t even close to the hilux in terms of capability.

lightnin.K always back to basics i guess... Follow the maintenance schedule Replace the wear and tear abit before the actual time (to prevent it failing during use, which might damage other components) Dont overburden the vehicle (dont floor it, dont speed like a madman, dont overload) Keep it clean inside n out (to take care of the paint, so that the paint can protect the metal. To prevent dust and dirt ruining the wiring insulators) Drive easy when cold Try to avoid traffic jams (start and stop traffic is a guaranteed way to cut ur cars drivetrain lifespan by half). Troubleshoot asap any funny noises or weird driving sensations (jerkiness, unstable acceleration, rough noises from the engine or tires) Try to keep things stock and original/oem. Dont go cheap on parts.

I think it's awesome that they care enough to see this as an opportunity to examine their product’s strengths and weaknesses. Probably the best Toyota commercial I've ever seen, and it wasn't even meant to be that! We've all heard all the manufactures tell us how great their product is. How committed to quality and strength and dependability they are. I’ve never been impressed by any of these claims. I've always felt actions speak louder than words. This is proof that they are truly working on continually improving. And that’s Awesome!

I got my 2001 Rav4 to 895,000 when I was an auctioneer. Used it for hauling and towing up and over the recommended weight up to approximately 3500lbs. I would be still driving it today if I didn't get hit by a tractor trailer in 2011. That twisted the poor little suv right out of whack. I had to change a clutch at around 550,000 and I lost 5th gear (OD) while driving through the mountains in 2007. I'm a large man as well. 6'5" +300lbs. Engine had good compression right 'till the end. I now have a 2008 Highlander and coming up on 400,000 soon. I'm very happy with Toyota quality.

The original one lasted 140,000 miles, so hopefully this one does the same or more. John Mcclane Nissan motors are fairly reliable, but from what I know the Titan does not have a CVT, and a 9 Speed auto instead. That would most likely last longer than a CVT. Titan is not a bad truck by any means, but some people don’t classify it as a real “truck” because it wasn’t made by Ford, Ram, or Chevrolet.

If you get 350k out of a truck, that's a win just by itself. Much more than that, especially in the rust belt, is asking a bit much.

My dad's 02 f250 has almost 400,000 miles on it, its on its second transmission but still has the original gas v8. We live in Maryland and it has little rust but nothing serious even with the road salt during the winters.

@BMW516 I own a 2017 corolla its an ok car but trust me no ten year work truck is going to look that clean with that many miles. No rips in the drivers seat where you exit the truck is a dead give away of bs. Thats why the guy brings it up in the video to throw you off. And my corolla the plastic by the wind shield broke so i glued it and the glass in my rear view mirror is loose and shakes. The dealer ordered a new one said they installed but didnt it was the same mirror they tighten it a little thats all.Toyotas are good cars but there not magic A million miles is a complete lie .

Decided to change the engine oil my self and I accidentally drain all the transmission oil out of my brand new 2008 thundra than filled up the engine with 6 quarts of oil. Total 12 quarts of engine oil. Old oil plus new oil. I drove 400 miles and started to smell something burning and smoking. It was the transmission with no oil in it. Filled it up with transmission oil. Drove it 200,000 miles and still driving it today with no problems. Still original transmission and original engine. If I hadn't done it myself I wouldn't of believed it myself. I will never ever buy any other truck. I'm sold on Toyota for life.

Unfortunately you'll probably never see a vehicle with this many miles up here in the northeast. The salt relentlessly kills vehicles. My car has 138k miles and runs perfect but there's rust everywhere and it probably only has two or three years left before it's no good. Sucks. Still, kudos to Toyota they make great trucks

My 2009 Rav4 V6 Limited has 208,000 miles on it. Still runs great. The only repairs I've had were one wheel bearing needed to be changed. I tried, I couldn't get the bolts off, so i had to take it to the family mechanic. I changed the radiator when a rock hit it, but that's not really a mechanical issue. I actually have a hole in my condenser right now, but it's winter, so there's no rush. I'll do that as soon as it gets warmer, but that's it other than maintenance.
