I had a feral cat who I had adopted as a kitten but didn’t know she was feral. She bonded with me and every time I went to bed to sleep, being a supine sleeper because of repeated back injuries and surgeries, she would always hop on my chest and put a paw on either side of my nose then lick the top of my nose until reddened. A couple of times I tried to relocate her to lie next to me but she would then jump right back up and then put just a little bit of her claws on either side of my nose and resume licking. I learned to just let her stay until she was done. Her name was The Dutchess because that was her personality.

I had a foster cat a year or two ago that loved licking me. I thought it was so cute, I always let her do it until she was finished. Sometimes I'd wake up from being licked by a cat on the face. That was such a fun way to wake up.
