IJKL for movement, Z shoot, X jump, ENTER to bring up the weapons, and ESC to pause and bring up the "quit game?" menu. As for floppy disks, I'm not sure it would need more than one. Playing on tape, now, that would be bonkers.

A lot of the unique level design for this is genuinely better than the original, showcasing hazards in safe ways before forcing you into dangerous scenarios with it, forcing you to interact with the mechanics before moving on, etc. Whoever made this did a very very good job not only on making it authentic, but improving it where they could in well thought out ways that make it play better.

@fatterplatter3029

@@IllgoLame Alien doesn't get damaged by anything but Bubble Lead, so I really don't count that. Bubble Lead is kind of useful for seeing pits in Wily Stage 4 (a design I'm personally not fond of because it was taught poorly). Picopico-kun's weakness is Bubble Lead, but Metal Blade is debatably better at killing it. And Heat Man is weak to the Bubble Lead, but I personally use the Mega Buster instead because the Bubble Lead ricochets off of Heat Man's fire pillars, which is a lousy design. So the Bubble Lead is only arguably useful at three points in the game. Truly an awful weapon. P.S. How is one boss (Alien) the majority of the Wily-based bosses? The only other Wily-based boss is Wily Machine 2.

The Atari 2600 had two sound channels. The music already doesn't work. Also, those saying only two sprites per scan line has never programmed for the Atari. You can achieve around 4-5 if you change the sprites position as it's drawing the screen, simulating more than 2 sprites, albeit with flicker.

Air Man’s theme is so damn good in this demake Crash Man is good, but some parts really hurt my ears Flash Man’s Theme sounds more retro and funky and the start, and the rest is great. Quick Man is pretty good , not a favorite, but it’s good. (Also, the Boss Fight Theme is really close to the original) Metal Man’s Theme I never really liked the NES version, but this demake makes me like it just a little bit. Bubble Man’s Theme sounds extremely good and in my opinion, better than the NES Heat Man’s Theme hurts my ears at the start but after that sounds so cool, my personal favorite in this demake Wood Man’s Theme is very nice >:], all SilvaGunner jokes aside, it’s very good, but I like the NES version a lot more better.

@VixyNyan
@VixyNyan 6 жыл бұрын
Yup, in both this and NES version, Bubble Lead is the main weakness, it kills the "Picopico-kun" boss's pieces in one hit. Metal Blade is the most commonly used weapon tho, but it takes extra hits to kill them in Difficult/Japanese modes.

I love this. The gameplay may not be as challenging as the original, but it sure looks fun to play. It's also much faster, and that's a good thing. Having to wait through the Weapon Get dialogue is lame and this game fixes that. The SFX and Music are all great and are perhaps my favorite parts of this demake.

Except for one little thing.Megaman 2 requieres at least 3 buttons to work. O e to jump,one to shoot,and one to open the weapons. The Atari 2600 only had one button. And even if jump was up or something dumb like that.The game would be tough as nails without the extra weapons.Nad that kinda blows.
