I think my favorite thing about this world record is that it's obvious there's still room to improve and this guy knows it. He points out the small tech errors and things that don't go right. It's like he's telling other runners where to look for ways to beat his record. I think that's impressive.

Gotta remember the patterns. Item 2 is cool and nets you the extra life in say heat man's stage, but the route I use to play MM2 (not speedrunning, I just play the game to relax) I play heat man early without the item so I memorized the pattern for his block puzzles. Muscle memory and rhythm take over and in about 30 seconds we're on our way.

@Patrick-sf4ss6 жыл бұрын
I will just say that it takes just as much skill if not more to execute the "glitches" (zips) as it does to simply jump across some platforms,climb some ladders or blast some enemies. They are done simply to save time. That is why he is running in the category he is and that is why the record counts. Very impressive to execute all of this in the same run and beat the clock on top of it. These guys are good at what they do and they put alot of effort into it. Congrats on the WR 👍
@abasslinelow6 жыл бұрын
I guarantee you guys it takes much, much more skill to execute those glitches. They are INSANELY hard. I've practiced some of them for hours and hours and still have less than a 50% success rate. A few in particular are just... insane, such as the one at on the first screen of Crash's stage. Just ludicrously difficult to pull off even once, no less with consistency in a run.

A split is basically a checkpoint for speedruns to check how well you're doing at that point compared to a certain goal, usually your previous best time. +1.2 means you took 1.2 seconds longer than you did on your personal best, while -0.7 means you improved by 0.7 seconds.
