@@stark_man0278 I remember you have to complete the stages in sequence. Enigma seems to have a higher chances of failing even if you abide by the sequence of the first 4 Mavericks stages. But if you completed the remaining 4 stages (and defeating the Mavericks of the stages) in sequence within the time limit, the shuttle will succeed. It'll then follow the Zero virus stages and you'll get to keep Zero and use him.

One time, I fired the cannon right after finishing the intro stage, because I knew it was gonna fail anyway. And it succeeded. I distinctly remember being able to choose the Colony stage afterwards. It only happened once and I don't remember saving it since I didn't do it at home (I was at some sort of a net cafe where you play PS1 games instead of using a computer), and even then, my memory card's long gone and malfunctioning.

Sabe533 No.2 indeed you can shoot the enigma or the shuttle before facing any maverick. You have to talk to Douglas(the green boy). However, the stage in Zero Area and Sigma will be very hard without any weapons or armor that u get from mavericks stages.

Indeed it is possible. The contrawise is also possible - you can still get the shuttle fails/Zero awakens path even after collecting all the parts for both the cannon and the shuttle. The parts only increase your percentage chance. Some people have really odd RNG here though, I never had to do it like 58 times. My test was more like 1 or 2 in 10. How odd.

*+IconOfSin24148* Hoo boy! And Brainscratchcomms even talked about that little scenario in their run-through of X5 too. Namely how it can REALLY cripple your game if you're a Zero player. Because if you've spent the whole playthrough leveling up Zero (and ONLY Zero,) and he ends up going rogue after you beat the last maverick, you should just erase your save file and start over. Because you're not beating those fortress stages as X in his current condition. Because again, by that point, you have officially wasted most of your heart tanks on Zero, leaving X with almost nothing. And the fortress stages in X5 are among the *HARDEST* in the whole X series. So really, the best thing you wanna do is just go for the good ending right away after you clear the intro stage (Cannon or shuttle). Because even if you fail, you AT LEAST won't have to go through the whole game all over again.

I just started playing x5 for the first time and I did this by accident going through the menus, not knowing what it would do. I hadn't played any stages prior and yet it still worked. I had to Google it to make sure I didn't screw anything up.

There is one method that upscaled my chances for a success when I was playing on console. It worked at least 6 times out of 10. 1. Destroy the Enigma Bosses EXCEPT Mcwhalen. 2. Initiate Engima Launch 3. During the cutscenes, there wil be a total of three(3) screens where we see the enigma blasting. For EACH SCREEN, do not press 'X' until one minute has elapsed. So you will have to wait a minute for each screen. I tried these several times and it has given me consistent results. I also tested that method with the following builds 1. No bosses destroyed - never successful 2. All Enigma bosses killed - only 1 out of almost 7 attempts. The waiting time per screen seems to determine much of the success rate. Usually I get a successful try when I waited 2 mins per screen. Of course, I also tried just quickly running through the screen and it barely gave me any success. All this time, I thought Mcwhalen's part was the drawback of the success rate of the enigma. *Note: I tried this method on emulator, I never succeeded.

Enigma success IMO. Even though chance to trigger this scenario is rare, lot of your work will be saved if it succeed. Also, you can access the zero virus stage immediately without having to defeat all 8 bosses within appointed time and facing any consequences, and get you to good ending after completing game.

I played the ps1 version on an emulator and I got the bad ending on it, I never played the original x collection so Idk about that version but I guess that collection’s version is kinda worse with the RNG factor for the shuttle from other vids I watched about it, but in the LC X5, I never got the bad ending when collecting all the shuttle parts so I guess they fixed it in that version

I got the Enigma shot 100% success after entering to Squid Adler's stage and dying so many times with more than 10 game overs just to collect orbs and beat the stage and the boss as the last maverick to get all the Enigma parts. I was playing the Japanese PS1 version on my Vita.

​@@RokkumanZero23 The funny thing, months ago, i played the japanese version, Rockman X5 on my Nintendo Switch in the Rockman X Anniversary Collection (i have the JPN version physically of MMXLC). and i was lucky got the Enigma shoot succeed after defeat the first 4 mavericks who have the Enigma parts, and the Stage of Volt Kraken/Squid Adler i only take 3 tries to collect orbs. I don't know if the Japanese version of X5 has the RNG more friendly the US version...

C'mon people, there is a way you can always succeed, you need certain items and then you have to wait until there are just a few turns before the crash. Only then fire the laser. If you fire it when the colony is too far you will always fail.

Year late, but it mainly is just like "Hey you got the shuttle parts? Get the cannon parts and fire that." "Failed the shot? Well here you go instant shuttle!" I tend to do it every playthrough for no reason, but it is fun.

I may be wrong, but I think your chances of destroying the Eurasia colony with Enigma increase as the number of remaining hours gets lower. This would make sense, since it'd be closer to Earth's atmosphere and thus the shot would be at a closer range.
