The first DVD I bought was "Scorpion King". I'd just bought my PS2 w/ component and a sic Toshiba monitor and I wanted to watch something awesome in "my own" set up for the first time. I saw the scorpion King in theaters and I thought those were cool FX.....

Even the shittiest movies got features and lore in the DVD menus. I miss that. We watched this hilariously goofy movie called Thirteen Ghosts and it had like lore for all of the ghosts in the movie.

The absolute shittiest DVD I owned had the absolute best interactive menu. Korn - Deuce. It had all these different rooms setup like an asylum (spo0o0oky nu-metal era!) you had to navigate, with tons of hidden menus, hidden buttons and even hidden inputs/codes to see tons of backstage hijinks and shit from the band.

I like Best Buy still simply because it’s one of the few places that lets you pick out the games without having to hunt down an employee to get it out of a case.

Anyone remember that lord of the rings game where you had to connect it to your tv and used a a sword that was basically like a wii remote. That shit was mind blowing to me as a kid. Think it was called warrior of middle earth.

I don't buy your merch as often as I used to (thanks Genocide Joe) but I would buy a rolling tray with much quickness.

When DVDs went from being £10-£15+ each to the point where people were buying them second-hand in CEX for £1-£2 each and/or just buying blank DVDs/pirates the value just completely hit the floor. I had a mate who would go to Chinatown in Liverpool every month and buy me BRAND NEW sealed Hong Kong Kung Fu DVDs at 50p each, I'd get like 10 or 20 at a time.

First VHS I bought with my own money was a Manga Entertainment UK video. I wanna be cool and say Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Street Fighter 2, Guyver... But, I think it was Venus Wars and/or Mermaid Forest. First DVD I bought was for my brother and it was again, more Japanese shit on the Tartan Asia label, Battle Royale. First blu-ray, yeah, same, basic bitch here, it was also Planet Earth... Which was pretty much the first and only thing I ever used my 3D glasses with. FOUR PAIRS that Samsung came with and I used 2 pairs once and never again. Good TV though... I still use it for... This is pretty much a disgrace and blasphemy to the PC community, but, as my PC isn't a 4K super-RTX-beast I just run the games that I enjoy on max at 60FPS on that TV, never needed to go higher (yet). First 4k blu-ray? Pfffft... I was still buying DVD boxsets through the blu-ray era IF I wanted to actually physically own something... otherwise it's pretty much streaming from here on out. I don't miss blu-ray, I don't even really miss DVDs... although, displayed on your shelves in all their boxset glory is cool... But, I do miss VHS.
