Hey Yev from Backblaze. Nice to see you around the Internet still. Hopefully this channel gets back on its feet, I don't wanna see this project fail. I know you guys are looking for investors but have you thought about cross promoting with other content creators here on youtube? Investors might be a little more willing to invest if they see the viewership rise abit. but then what do I know, I have no background knowledge in marketing or anything. Either way, best of luck Matt.

I could have used the old servers to help out the local animal shelter. They are running every thing on old desktops an USB storage device as backup. Far from ideal. What I would like to see is companies giving away their old servers to charity instead of just destroying them. Only the harddrive contains information that is sensitive the hardware itself is good to be repurposed

So how much money does it cost to build and maintain one of these bots?
@darkshadowsx59496 жыл бұрын
Depends on material cost and if you can do all the work yourself. Hiring a team increases price ten fold. i believe they had around a million from kickstarter to build this one. then went broke shortly after the first fight. on your own no crew my estimate is around $150,000 to $250,000 just to build it because attachment like the claw arent cheap. cant remember how much the tank tread half costed.

When I was a member of the Robotics Team at a School, the opposing team wouldn't agree to terms for competition, I then negotiated price on the "World Wide Web" to "win" against the other team, ultimately though, seen+limited countermeasures were enough that we later furthered the agreeing to terms with all teams before all Robotics competitions. Separately, and as always, the money used should and always should be strong so all prices can be attained.

So when are they fighting a robot
@tiagotiagot6 жыл бұрын
You need to work on a waldo-style rig for the arm control, and adjust the design of the claw to make it more like those giant cutters they attach to diggers that can pickup eggs without cracking the shells but also cut thru structural steel beams in buildings.

I wonder which is worth more. Those servers or that robot. I should probably say it's a joke as i'm sure some people will take it seriously... the servers are only worth around $4000-$6000 total and obviously the bot is worth more than that lol. So essentially they turned $4k-$6k into $50-$100.

@GoGunCo6 жыл бұрын
The annual budget for a Formula One team is around $50M. $1M boxing robots are viable as long as they don't have to get completely destroyed each match. We just need to hit scale.
