Look at that footwork it's amazing! Only Ann Miller could combine the Charleston with tap and made it look easy.

Only Eleanor Powell could have surpassed Ann in tap dancing... solo. Ann could dance ballroom dancing as well, sing and act dramatically.. she didn't have a chance to be a dramatic actress like Judy Garland... but... well all that went down into history already. Thank you for the wonderful upload...

Yes, some (3?) were from the 'Beautiful Girl' number, some from 'The Broadway Ballet", and the rest from the opening sequence at Grauman's Chinese Theater... :)

I think the two male dancers on the right (the ones in the tuxes at 45 sec) were supposed to be Leopold and Loeb. Very bad taste.

Funny how the 50s looked at the 20s then only 30 years back. Like Singing In The Rain did. It was originally in Desert Song, not Artists and Models.

It's hard to keep the fabulous Ann Miller down, but this frenetic musical number tries. Deep In My Heart is a dreadful film, but she seems to have wandered in from another movie. She was terrific, but she doesn't need this awful number around her.
@jackjules7552
@jackjules7552 2 жыл бұрын
Film work was slowing down for Ann at MGM. This number was the only thing Ann had in release at MGM in the year 1954. She did one final musical film the following year.

@jochenstossberg5427
@jochenstossberg5427 2 жыл бұрын
Wrong and right. Taps were always pre recorded or added after filming. But Ann Miller did ALL her own taps, unlike Gene Kelly who had Carol Haney on hand to record his taps when he was tired. Your comment about boys from the south is racist and offensive and totally wrong.
