I'm so glad you kept that Copenhagen plank "fail" in your video. It's good to reinforce that failure is not always bad. Just means you need yo adjust. Good warm-up! Thanks for sharing!

Meg you are literally the reason I became interested in squatting and just being strong. I’ve been weight training for about 8 months now and I recently have been feeling super depressed and just not wanting to work out. All to say… this video really made me push myself to go and get active today. Thank you for your good vibes😩! We appreciate you Strong Strong friend 💛!

I love how informative and funny this was. I’ve been watching you for years and you were one of the first women lifters that I came across that helped me be more knowledgeable in the gym. No fluff, just facts 😭

Oh my gods! Your shoulder mobility is epic! I just started physical therapy today for chronic neck and shoulder pain and limited mobility and thoracic outlet syndrome and blah blah blah and I cannot wait for the day I can move my shoulders like that again.

I don’t know why I ever thought when ramping up to my top set that I needed to reach failure (ie doing a lot more reps on the warm up sets). No wonder I feel fatigued by the time I get to my working sets. Thank you for this!

Loved this. I wasn't going to watch it because who likes warming up? But I'm always learning. Thank you x

yep i hate warm up coz it always makes me feel like i have already done the workout before i have started ..but i don't work out without warm up anymore coz , well i found out the all kinds of things can go wrong , it might not but it only takes that one rep or that one day coz of no warm where one of those many things go wrong .

Could you do a video on cardio in addition to the SBD program? I feel like having a better cardiovascular threshold would improve my lifting but I’m afraid doing to much cardio will impair my strength.
@jessicaelliott43282 жыл бұрын
I had a trainer that was making me do a full cardio session before my weight lifting/strength training and I was Soo fatigued that I wasn't able to progress. I finally let go of said person and now I'm seeing results. I do all of my lifting first then do a burnout cardio session. BUT I only do the burnout twice a week. I do about 20 mins everyday on the treadmill or 10-15 on stair master and it hasn't affected my gains.

@megsquats your flexibility is amazing here. Do you do any specific flexibility work aside from mobilising pre-lifting? Flexiblity and mobility tends to be glossed over in strength training so it would be really good to hear more about.

So the potentiation phase is just before you getting into your working set? I feel like if I did that before my squats I would be way too tired. Should i lower reps or weight then ?
@Rosalynn782 жыл бұрын
Try it! It’s worth experimenting with to see how it feels. You could compare taking 1-2 jumps to your working set to 3-4 jumps.

I had this question too … like if I’ve just spent all this energy squatting to my max, do I also do my actual work out after that? Lol
