That's really a big finding Sandro that needs to be widely shared. Other vidoes kill those 2 products because they test them after like 24 hours. Learning they need as much as 72 hours to cure is big news to many.

Brilliant mate! The results were as expected I feel. Ultimate FF is a good sealant but not in the class if the other two. However I'd take FF over the other two simply because of its ease of use. You can reapply Ultimate FF every couple of months with ease and the can will last a dozen coats or more. It takes 5-10 minutes to do a large car and the results are more than acceptable, especially on my silver car. Great work Sandro!

Once again you show that your way of testing is absolutely fantastic. The fact that you test products in your own ways gives another dimension. If everyone just followed the instructions on the bottles we would never find better ways to use the products. I understand that there are so many aspetcs in developement and promoting products. The developers have to find ways to apply them that are easy so that "everyone" can use them. This might compromize the behavior but still the product performs okay. With a little bit of tweaking you can obviously find more performance. Thank you for all the effort. That includes the testing itself, filming, editing and all the other work that are not shown such as prepearing and work to restore everything after. Well done.

I love fast finish. It's a paint sealant that works with everything I have tried. Once I get a car to the gloss I want with Polish and any wax, ceramic or even turtle wax hybrid or Ice. Then use ff every wash until the next time it needs wax again. It takes minutes and makes the whole car static charged to repel garage dust in a way others don't. One can last for a lot of applications. It does not add gloss or much slickness. Just seems to add another layer of dust protection and sheeting instead of beading. Sounds weird I know but it works.

I was contemplating purchasing Lite to use instead of CanCoat which I already own & use. On the results from this review, I think I'll stick with CanCoat as out with durability (which is flawed as chemical resistance isn't a representation of durability) I can easily get 12+ months from CanCoat with better hydrophobicity, slickness & the same excellent gloss as Lite. Thanks for this excellent video Sandro, saved me a purchase 👍

The Fast Finish is the best because its applies in minutes and its dirt cheap . You can apply it once a month for a fraction of the price of the other products and get as good or better protection with a fraction of the effort. I've been using it for years. Its also the only product I use on my Mercedes designo matte paint, precisely because it is not shiny and has zero abrasives. On my other Mercedes vehicle with "normal paint" it maintains its shine perfectly, it keeps the paint looking showroom new. Note that I live in a climate with sub artic conditions where half the year the vehicle is constantly bombarded by salt, sand, ice and snow. I simply apply it twice a year fall and spring. If I see some degradation in water beading in between its simply another 10 minute application! Better yet you can apply it over any material with the same results. If there is any overspray simply wipe it off and done. Best product ever! If the paint is weathered to begin with you will need to use a regular waxing product to restore the paint previous to application since its only a ceramic sealer it has no other abrasives, fillers or waxes. I never have to go through that step since its the first thing I do when I buy a new car, thus the paint never gets weathered to begin with!

Great video! Glad you put megs up against these "higher end" products...a lot of my clients maintain their vehicle bi-weekly with me so megs really becomes the best choice as I'm reapplying frequently and dont have to worry about longevity much. But carpro is looking like my next best choice!

Great comparison, thanks a lot for your work and effort! I have been using Meguiar's FF for one year now and applied it on 9 cars already. The can still contains approx. 20%, so a little really goes a long way. My experiences with FF are almost the same as your results here. Easy to use but you have to reapply it latest every 9-10 weeks and beading/sheeting are not as good as with other products. Greetings from Germany!

Great video as always Sandro. I'm thinking about trying CQuartz Lite for my spring detail this year. I don't have a garage and do most of my detailing outside, so it would be very difficult to properly apply a full on ceramic coating (especially 2 or 3 coats). So having a product that is easier to apply with less cure time is definitely a bonus. I feel like for a full on detail with ceramic coating you almost need to put your car inside for a week. That's not possible for a lot of people.

I have my car Can Coated by myself.about 3 months til now. And I have removed 3 days-bird droppings with no etching at all. As I imagine, it might be a failure at the installation than the performance itself. Prepping is key and also, all paints are real different one from another. Soft paints are more tend to be hitted than harders. Hope it helps

Sandro's reviews are just 👌 Thank you! If you use a maintenance product or some other topper then I'm thinking that hydrophobicity and slickness aren't so important on the base layer (as the topper provides those) - it's the durability and (visual appeal) you want in that case. Of all the lightweight ceramic coatings I reckon Cquartz Lite appears to offer the best chances of making the year-long mark (perhaps with the help of Reload or Gyeon Cure), and with great looks to boot. The wipe-on-wipe-off application looks like a doddle and I imagine that any difference in speed compared with a spray is more than made up for with the extra months of protection before you have to reapply (including all the prep that goes along with it).

Sandro - Gyeon say not to wash the car with detergents for 7 days after applying Cancoat. This is fairly standard for any coating, and would imagine CQuartz Lite similar. Great video. I like both CanCoat and CQ Lite. You hit it right on the head with the durability of Lite just edging out CanCoat as I have seen the same in real world comparison. As much as I like the spray on application of CanCoat I still find better performance applying it with a microfiber applicator. Probably because it goes on a little thicker. It sure does look great as a topper over any other coating.

Water beads like mad and everyone comments how glossy it looks. This was a great comparison. I have ordered NV Jet & Lustre. I wonder how these stack up against Can coat???? And as a maintenance topper for my EVO coat, would you use jet, lustre, both or stick to Boost???? A good test of these 3 types Ceramic coating products. But no matter what Ceramic coating product (Prof or DIY) is chosen, I don't believe the ease of application is a rating, as ceramic coatings are used firstly for the protection of the paint, followed by the hydrophobic properties and chemical protection, ease of washing the car and finally how long they last. The main things I learnt from the videos are (1) use a suede cloth applicator instead of microfiber, as microfiber would absorb initial applications into the cloth until it becomes saturated, (2) Any Pro Ceramic coating takes 7 days to fully cure and before washing the vehicle, 24 hrs before getting wet. Even though what the Manufacturers recommend for curing time, would there be any difference in their hydrophobic and chemical resistance if these products were left for the same period to cure as a professional ceramic coating? I'm asking for your view not for further testing. I always appreciate and acknowledge detailers who spend a lot of their own time in testing products, and then editing the videos on top of the testing. But also Sandro, do you have a excess water bill as lots of water is used for these product tests. Much appreciated.

Thanks for another video Sandro! CarPro or NV products for me here on out. There are some really good products out there but the ones that have shown to take a spot on the medal🥇stand consistently are these two. Question: CQ Lite topped with Reload or Boost? 🤔😎

Great overview on these well known products. I am about To use quartz lite on my new charger. I also bought reload. Would you wait a few days to apply this topper after your test showed 48 hour cure time or apply 1 hour after as instructed by car pro website?

Great video.. I'm a total rookie (I didn't even know what a ceramic coating was until I saw a pop-up ad in August 2021 and I've been going down that rabbit whole ever since) that has only used Meguiar's hybrid ceramic spray in the blue bottle, which, after screwing up a couple times (I let my cloth get saturated and it wasn't wiping it up so it caused streaks - it took me a bit to figure that out, but I believe I've solved that issue), I've come to really like it as a product. Here's my question, Sandro... assuming all the prep is done right, etc, what is the functional difference between getting a professional high-end ceramic coating job at the detail place (or even using higher priced stuff like CQuartz) compared to, say, putting on multiple coats of the hybrid spray on, and then touching it up with a new coat at the beginning of each month (other than it's just more work, of course)?

The first thing to point out is that there is no right or wrong which ever direction you take. But I think your question is really what’s the difference between a good water based lower content hybrid coating like HCW wax and a good full strength high content solvent based true ceramic coating. The true coating will have a hardness that can to a greater level resist swirls and even minimise the severity of deeper scratches. It’s really the first layer of any coating or sealant that creates that strong bond to the paint, and a true coating is able to lay down and bond to much thicker degree compared to a hybrid sealant, which means things like not only greater durability, but also greater environmental resistance, UV protection and arguably greater levels of gloss, depth and saturation. So although layering can help, 2nd, 3rd and continuous top costs are never going to being as strongly or last as long as the foundation layer directly to the paint and the better foundation layer you have the better protection form the elements it provides. I’ve also found that although true coatings are still quite susceptible to water spots, bug and pop etchings, they tend to be contained within the coating rather that penetrate to the clear coat as easily as they would with a sealant or hybrid coating. Like I said, there’s no right or wrong, but for someone like me whose be doing this long enough to remember a time before synthetic sealants and before Nano based silica technology, it’s really amazing how far paint protection has come!

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you, Sandro... so just to clarify... in your experience, the true ceramic coating a year in or whatever with nothing more than regular soap washings is still protecting better than the HCW, even if the HCW is getting regularly touched up?

You can’t really assess and compare a fresh layer of a sealant with a year old coating. The question should be whether after applying a coating, the paint is in better condition after a year compared to applying a sealant serval times within that same year. I’d still tend to say that the coating is going to provide better protection and look after the clear coat a little better, though a fresh layer of a sealant may or may not perform better straight after application. You can think of it this way: is it better to buy a single pair of shoes that are durable, comfortable and look after your feet for a whole year, or is it better to buy several more affordable pairs within that same year that cost you no more and initially look and feel great but just don’t last as long. There’s no right or wrong answer, just a preference 🙂

@@thomasemerson7257 I’m an enthusiast detailer and have Cquartz UK 3.0 on my daily driver. I maintain it with various SiO2 based spray toppers. It’s been 18 months and still going strong. I even left a high-spot when I first applied it, and yep…that high spot is still there like it was on day one. I have another car that has a “light” ceramic coating (TACsystem One Step Master), sits outside, but isn’t driven or washed as much. And guess what, it looks phenomenal when washed. However, it’s probably more a testament to the polishing job I gave it before the coding. It doesn’t feed water all over like it used to. I will be polishing it again soon and applying a longer-term coating, like CarPro SiC.

The paint has to be perfect and even polished for the coating to hold and work properly... My cancoat holded up over 1 1/2 year on a daily driven car without garage. I did not applied any stuff afterwards. Using a block is just a waste of time and thats not what cancoat is meant to be used.

Has anyone used this with the small suede clothes and seen how hard the cloth gets once it's dried? In other videos I've seen Sandro show that the cloth gets almost stiff with cquartz UK as a possible indicator of how the coating works as a protective layer. So I'm wondering if the lite version does a similar thing.

Hi Sandro, I would appreciate it if you could help me with a question. Do you know what the shelf life of the CarPro CQuartz lite and CanCoat is? Do they expire? It's just that I am thinking of buying one, but I only have one car and one motorcycle, meaning I will keep either CQuartz lite or CanCoat sitting on the shelf for months until I use it back on my car and motorcycle again. Appreciate your thoughts on this :)

You should get between 3-6 months life out of an opened bottle of CQ Lite - the more full the bottle is the longer it will last, but if you only have a small amount left in the bottle you should use that up within a month, but also be sure to keep the bottle in a dark cool place. I would assume Can Coat would be similar.
