Hi I have a question I know this might be late but, I have sony nex f3 the 2012 model and tbh I was amazed of how the camera do in such a way but let me get to the point, so the NEX F3 is an emount lens too so I was looking for a cheap 50mm lens that is an emount I found this, now I am wondering if this lens would work on the camera, the quality looks fantastic in that kind of price, I hope you answer my question :)

There are other fifties on the 2nd hand market - e.g. eBay - in good to excellent condition, for a quarter to a half of the price of the Meike, that would have better optical performances. If you want to go manual, which always gives best control over image quality, then go for the stars, even if they're a bit long in the tooth and need an (cheap) adapter! Nice hints on manual shooting with the Sony however, very useful.
@mikeonthemarne
@mikeonthemarne 6 жыл бұрын
Replying to me: good old Japanese lenses - Super-Takumar or OM - can be had for half the price of the Meike and the Russians will cost even less - a late Helios 44, say a 44-5 or 6, very sharp, and others, like Jupiter-8, go on an M39 adapter, so very compact indeed. Quality control, in my experience, less variable than many say but YMMV!

The 35mm has a smaller minimum focusing distance. Might make it easier when working with food. If you want to also get some macro shots, there are also extension tubes you can get.
@jfermins
@jfermins 7 жыл бұрын
I got the Meike extension tubes for macro, not bad at all for under $20. Had enough time to even shoot small flies (that originally I didn't spot with the naked eye). You should start a G+ community or Google photos folder so we can share the pictures taken after watching your videos.

The Kaxinda branded version of this lens was F2.4. The aperture depth-of-field scale still has "2.4" on it. It looks and exposes like an F2.8 lens. My conclusion is it is not F2.
@davidsouzmr
@davidsouzmr 2 жыл бұрын
The "F" is a ration between the size of the front element and the size of rear element... is not an exact measurement of light! The letter used to actual LIGHT measurement is "T" you will find those on cinema lenses and the exposure between two different lenses with "T2.0" is supposed to be the same

I think you're making things a bit too complicated for beginners. I prefer Aperture priority mode with Auto ISO with +0.7 for Exposure Compensation. Now, all you do is focus, compose and click.
@that1cameraguy
@that1cameraguy 7 жыл бұрын
+Programmer Qn the current series of videos I've been doing is building on my previous ones where I cover exposure. I think it's good practice to get your exposure down and understand how it all works. Once you have it down, using auto ISO or those priority modes is all said and good. I use them from time to time in rapidly changing circumstances. However, what I'm shooting is rather casual, so not a big deal in my opinion

No offense, but from image quality, any Minolta MD 50/F2 or Yashica ML 50/F2 should be better, especially at the corners. And way cheap. One can be lucky and get either Lens for around 10 Bucks. I own them since the late 80s. Plus, these Lenses do have character.
