This is so incredibly sweet. Actually it's not an unsuccessful interview, he absolutely aces this. The interviewer was having difficulty, at his job, and Mel was totally organic and sovereign. Plus he is so incredibly intelligent and conscious. Just love him more.

I think the interviewer's problem is that he didn't have a strong grasp of the English language. Mel is trying to untangle the reporters phrasing the best he can. The interviewer sounds like he is probably French, but whatever his ethnicity, had he been interviewing in his own language and interviewing someone who speaks that same language, I think the interview would have been far more smooth.
