Mel was in no mood (probably hungover) for this French interviewer. You can see Mel discretely flip the guy “The Bird” while rubbing his temple. Hardly patient or sweet of Mel to be rude to a French (with a heavy French accent) interviewer while Mel is a guest in France.

Wow, I can see why he made it big in movies. He actually has that special 'something' in front of the camera. When I first saw Brad Pitt in 'A River Runs through It' or something like that...I told my friend that guy is going to be a big actor. He also had the same thing that Mel has here in front of the camera. Very few have that 'magical' aura about them.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but this whole magic aura people always talk about when referring to actors is nothing more than good looks and being talkative. It’s really not a skill or something they worked at, they just won the genetic lottery. Let’s call it what it is.

The subtle f you with the middle finger at 1:26. The French interviewer also had trouble putting his questions into correct English. Awkward for sure. I think the interviewer's problem is that he didn't have a strong grasp of the English language. Mel is trying to untangle the reporters phrasing the best he can. The interviewer sounds like he is probably French, but whatever his ethnicity, had he been interviewing in his own language and interviewing someone who speaks that same language, I think the interview would have been far more smooth.
