I'd describe it more as melancholic being more of the "anger, and hatred mixed together but also equally contrasted with sadness or a hopeless feeling" and depression, like you said, there's just nothing

Hell yeah! I love seeing Sadness on here. Leave is one of my favorite albums of all time. They somehow make Depressive BM into something that's actually uplifting and just absolutely beautiful. Only really started getting into black metal over the last couple of years but I really love it and this little collection of riffs here outlines everything that interests me about it. This music makes you feel, it's not just music, it's spirit and soul and so much good music is being written the world over, yet known by so few. Man... It's so cool seeing you play all these songs. I was real deep into DSBM/BM/Blackgaze/Emo and just metal in general. I recognized almost all these bands. If you haven't, Wedard, Nokturnal Depression, Shyy, Soliness, Heretoir, Germ, Lyrinx, Lascar, Farsot, Austere, Lifelover, and Trist are some really good bands I frequently listen to. It's my first time seeing this channel, but I'll definitely be watching what other videos you've posted.

I'm not the biggest fan of your everyday generic black metal, and often prefer "blackened" genres, but dsbm and melancholic bm have surprised me and I find myself listening to them on the daily.

Depressive black metal and Melancholic black metal are basically the same. same style of lyrics same style of message. both are my favorite genres. Depressive Post Black metal is amazing as well. one of the most famous band in that genre is Heretoir.

@@jasonadams2 They've dedicated albums to some divisive figures in Ukrainian history. Blood in our Wells was dedicated to Stepan Bandera who is probably the most controversial. But they're a pretty silent bunch who let their music speak for itself.

The Tenth Sublevel is the most "true"-feeling DSBM album, in my opinion. It's bleak and miserable without losing the core of black metal

@@Παθεια_Γνωστικα the double-dose of F-ing Your Ghost and Sardoniscorn is one of the most ferocious openings to a black metal album. Love the title track, The Idiot Sun, and Mine Molten Armor, as well. It is a very angry album, Wrest never manages to lose that sheer agression in his music
