I'd describe it more as melancholic being more of the "anger, and hatred mixed together but also equally contrasted with sadness or a hopeless feeling" and depression, like you said, there's just nothing

Man... It's so cool seeing you play all these songs. I was real deep into DSBM/BM/Blackgaze/Emo and just metal in general. I recognized almost all these bands. If you haven't, Wedard, Nokturnal Depression, Shyy, Soliness, Heretoir, Germ, Lyrinx, Lascar, Farsot, Austere, Lifelover, and Trist are some really good bands I frequently listen to. Depressive black metal and Melancholic black metal are basically the same. same style of lyrics same style of message. both are my favorite genres. Depressive Post Black metal is amazing as well. one of the most famous band in that genre is Heretoir.
