Shop Bao Ngoc is “open when we feel like it”. After capitalism burnout waged a war on her capacity to deliver food as a tool of community care and connection, chef-owner Ngọc Trần simply turned the restaurant into a community space.
Outside, a “take what you need” fridge stands, which was stocked with meals throughout lockdowns, inside, a welcoming, cozy shop covered in anti-capitalist graffiti, where giant pho pots bubble, that hosts everything from workshops to fundraisers, BBQs and music events.
