Omg! This video is mind blowing. You gave detailed experiences for us to work from. I did not like myself in my 40s and I slowly began at 45 to change my body. At 51 I’m strength training. Mindset! Believe in yourself. Thanks Melissa for these words. ❤❤❤❤❤

I strength train too and I lost weight . I calorie count and don’t drink alcohol . I have to be careful not to I’m over eat foods high in carbohydrates because I have an intolerance to it . I don’t drink fizzy drinks . I don’t look quite as good as Melissa but I have done well . Thank you so much Melissa for all your help .

I stopped eating low carb because I learned that our progesterone production depends on carbs and magnesium (its why we crave chocolate before our period - magnesium source). I have upped my sleep, have a very tiny calorie reduction, eat healthy carbs, good protein, and am focusing on muscle. I can feel a positive change already, in my body and my mood. I'm 40.

I’ve had to make huge reduction in refined carbs. As I’ve got older, regular consumption of carbs like bread 🥖 pasta, pizza 🍕, and plant based carbs rice 🍚 potatoes 🥔 left me bloated, tired and weight gain. I’ve had to go for vegetables 🥦 carbs instead. Since reducing carbs and increasing protein from real meat I’m less hungry and full of energy

After losing 40 lbs on Alternate Day Fasting... (and gaining it right back) I figured out three things. 1. I do not have a blood sugar problem. Anything to do with manipulating that is not going to work for me. 2. reducing calories to lose isn't working anymore. I have to eat almost no food to lose weight and 3. the small amount of food I have been eating for most of my life is likely responsible for a severe lack of protein. This is probably why I have low muscle and have been 40 lbs overweight my entire life. I also have thrown the scale in the trash. I lost 40 lbs on ADF but how much of it was muscle?

Melissa, please do a hair care video, too. Your hair is gorgeous. I am gluten free (due to health issues). A swap for pizza is the cauliflower crust one which are lower in calories, or the tortilla pizzas. These help me get my pizza fix. Also, you can use zoodles ( zucchini noodles made with a spiralizer) to sub for noodles. I know they taste different than the real thing, but they are lower in calories. I want to weight train so badly after seeing you do it, Melissa. I am still losing weight right now.

I need to stop doing lots of cardio and focus on my strength training I've been doing so much cardio for 20 years and it never gave me the results I wanted all it did was hurt me now I need to just do walking I walk a lot everyday since I don't have a car I'm always on foot running my errands when I get groceries I'm on foot then to come home and do cardio instead of doing strain training I know that's what starting to harm me , I need to focus on strength training because this is also to help build bone density as well as muscle and I hope by doing things the right way the belly fat will finally finally finally go away !!!!!

You Are Sooo HELPFUL and INSPIRING. I am 57 and I am 105lbs. I am Vegan and trying to put on Muscle. I have been working out most of my life, but as you say, It’s all changed up now. I don’t eat enough because I don’t cook. I don’t know how often to do Cardio. I usually do HIIT workouts 15 minutes 3 times a week. I’m trying to figure out how to grow and keep muscle ….

Coulx you highlight a few of older, in 60s obese woman out of shape who have turned it around and have made a transformation? Im starting your challenge. Im just getting over Covid, 200 lbs and out of shape due to injuries the last few years. Im really ready to start. Ive lost weight close to 30 lbs these last couple years, but ive healed up most of my issues, now im ready to get strong. Need to be inspired by people more like myself. Thank you for inspiring so many of us.

Wow! Tku Melissa. We are both the same age. I have found your advice a 100% correct and effective. I have changed my workout and diet routine and on a much clearer and better path now. The self confidence advice hit the nail on the head for me. I am taking that advice on board. I am weeks away from my 57th birthday. I was in great shape in my 40's, but the year I turned 50 I gain 15 lbs. ( seemed like overnight ). Turning 51 in 2 weeks and feel miserable. Thanks for he tips - but it's seems challenging dropping these 15 lbs with life stressors on top of getting older. I enjoy long walks to destress from work -so thank goodness, I don't have to give up my daily walks. Melissa, how many days a week do recommend woman over 50 do strength training and how much weight to you recommend for an beginner?

Hi, what if I already do most of these and still gained weight? 😟 Im 43, soon 44 and 1,5 year ago my weight was 62 kg. Had a sudden weight gain. Sky rocketin, now at 75 kg 😥 I hardly drink, never did much. Processed foods hardly ever since my late 20ies. Eat rather healthy. For sure I dont excersise a lot, due to chronic pain after a surgery gone wrogn, but that was 7 years ago. Why this sudden change despite good habits? 😥
