What’s that box under your board ? Is it a motor ?

It's a battery, BMS and ESC, the motors are hub motors which live inside the wheels. There's a bunch of different drives with Hub, Direct Drive, Belt, and Helical Gear being the most prominent these days. Hubs come a long way and there's appeal. However belt allows to change to hundreds of different kinds of wheels. Direct drive less than belt but more than hub. And gear drive same as belt with regards to what wheels you want. If you're happy with stock or what sleeves are available and 30mph is cool then maybe hub. Belt is highly considered, customize for torque or speed. I have belt but it's noisy. Helical gear is even noisier. DD and hub are silent.

Hi ich wollte mal fragen wie das so in Deutschland ist... Ich würde mir nämlich gerne eins kaufen um damit von mir zu Hause bis zur Schule zufahren und generell einfach nur zu crusen. Mein Fahrrad is nämlich vor kurzem kaputt gegangen und sich ein Neues zu kaufen geht ordentlich ins Geld. Jedoch hab ich ein paar bedenken da Deutschland zur Zeit ziemlich langsam sich um diese ganze E-Fahrzeug Geschichte kümmert und die Gesetze noch nicht richtig angepasst sind. Außerdem bin ich erst 16.
