hi Daren, Thanks for the great help! I would very appreciate if you could be so nice to continue to make some tutorials for advanced level, when you have time. After watching the beginners tutorials I personal would like to see how to switch the finger position and how to breath in komplexer melody etc. Thanks again!

Great lesson, I really appreciate the resources in the description. I have a question though, how do we know when we will need to shift our hand position and to where. Keep up the great videos!
@MelodicaWorld4 жыл бұрын
It's at 3:36. I drew a little green arrow underneath the notes. You shift the whole hand up by 3 notes, so the thumb will be over F, and the 3rd finger over A. Does that help?

Thank you for these wonderful lesson. I went thru all of them and i am able to play music smoothly in melodica (with practice) as per your course. What is the next step to learn more intermediate/advance level. There are hardly any teachers and lessons on melodica on an intermediate level. Appreciate your response. :) Thanks for all that you did.

@MelodicaWorld4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! To keep your melodica in tune for longer, you could buy a higher end model and try just playing quietly. Doesn't sound like much fun though!

So did you happen to notice that a melodica player has been nominated for an album of the year grammy!? Yes, I'm talking about Jacob Collier (who does a couple more instruments than melodica, tbh . . . like almost all of them -- still, the melodica is definitely highlighted in quite a few videos/recordings, e.g. Georgia on My Mind, the grammy-winning Flintstones, and the just-released Christmas Song). It would be interesting to hear your take on the melodica solos he features on some of his videos/recordings. Indeed, I think it would be quite worthwhile to hear about how different composers/groups have integrated melodica into their compositions, because they felt it served an expressive purpose (not just because it's fun, and easier to carry than a keyboard). Are there classical composers writing for the instrument? Jazz or pop musicians?
@MelodicaWorld4 жыл бұрын
I'm a massive fan of Jacob Collier, amazing all round creative genius. There's also Jon Batiste, who plays jazz. And I think Steve Reich was the first (and last?) 'classical' composer to write for it in the 1960s
@lolwhatever73074 жыл бұрын
Thanks for an amazing series. I have a question, maybe more advanced one. How should i move my hand while playing full keyboard scales or arpegios? Sadly i dont have experience with classical piano, so i have no idea about hand technic
@MelodicaWorld4 жыл бұрын
Good question. Work on making your thumb flexible and independent of the other fingers, this really helps. If you need more detailed help, ask on the forum www.melodicaworld.com
