when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. that is why i bring you an january TBR that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i want to read this month, me making a TBR jar and cart, and losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2024. booktube and tiktok have buzzed about these books… let’s see if i’ll enjoy them! i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with one more book to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2024!

Yes! I was literally screaming at my computer: "Pick Vera Wong! Pick Vera Wong!" 😆 I loved that book. So much fun. Also, the Lord of the Rings series is an all time favorite. Que lo disfrutes!

I really love how you've set up your TBR jar to be prompts instead of titles! I feel like that would make it so much more successful for mood readers. I've wanted to hop on the TBR jar trend for a long time but cannot commit to specific books at specific times. I'm so inspired by this idea, though!

Yesterday I had a massive book un-haul. So many books I’ve had for years and never read; it was painful, difficult and heartbreaking at times, but I honestly felt so good and accomplished afterwards. I even sorted out the ones kept boxed in my garage and was able to bring in my most favourites back into the house! (if anyone has read the Wolf Brother series by Michelle Paver you’re my new favourite person, as I’ve never met anyone who’s also read it 🥲 But if you haven’t please read it it’s so good!! 💖💖) I’ve still got what can be considered an unhealthy amount of books to read, but I’ve been getting back into reading thanks to my new Kindle, so I’m making it a personal mission to get through so many more books this year!! Wish me luck!! 😌❤️

just finished Fellowship of the Ring myself and i thought i'd warn you that it is VERY slow-paced. I struggled with it myself so i thought i'd let you know just in case that's something you struggle with/are not used to!!

I think I would have enjoyed “Vera Wong’s…” more if I had my expectations right. It is more about the found family, with some romance thrown in. Less a mystery. Cozy for sure.

Always a moodreader! I'm currently re reading a very old book I own actually : the scarlet pimpernel. Vera sounds great tho 😂 Imma read that next. I really thought the paper on the plate was food. I should go get breakfast Side note : Ya know I've been wondering for a while just how many of the books on your shelves are still unread. So new video idea ? where you go around pointing at the unreads 😂 *Update* 2 DAYS LATER : I finished the book. 5/5. I loved every second of it. Hillarious, loving characters and that plot twist had my jaw on the floor. Also now I need a Vera Wong in my life!

I'm so excited for you to try The Fellowship of the Ring! I'll be interested to see what you think about the start of the book because there's a lot in there that's not in the film. Also have you heard of Cecily by Annie Garthwaite? I'm trying to get more people to read it. It's a feminist fictionalisation of part of Cecily Neville's life, who was a really important noblewoman in 15th century England. The (UK) cover's gorgeous too
