A while back you did a video where you bragged about matabo grinders. I only had a couple 4 inch dewalt grinders that I love but I could use a 6 inch. I was in the local weld shop and saw they had matabo grinders and I got a 6 inch corded grinder. I am amazed at how it runs. I love that thing. Thanks for the recommendation and for the content.

Fun! I did this to my trailer a few years ago for the same reasons, and even though it was a lot of work initially, every time I use the ramps it makes me smile, it was so worth it. Really enjoy your videos, keep them coming 👍

Hey Rockstar, That was an awesome upgrade! I was wondering how you were gonna do it! Damn and it looks like you been hittin the gym in between work💪💪💪💪 Most won't even understand or comprehend the amount of work you put in on a daily basis! Keep it pegged Rockstar it can only get better!

Never had much luck with ramps that don't have heels that touch the ground when they're down to keep the trailer from bucking when driving onto it. I'm always hauling heavy shit though.

Nice job with the torch cuts. Your Handler sounds like the wire drive motor is on the way out, or not. I've got an old Miller 211 that I use for FC and it's whined since I got it 1 years ago, I keep expecting it to not work when I pull the trigger but it keeps on keeping on. Your design and fix of the trailer is 100% better than the way it was. That was a ridiculous design having to put them in the side. Have a great week, Anthony

Watching your videos have been very informative and inspirational to me. I’ve been welding for construction companies and now currently in water utilities at this time and have decided to start doing side gigs and try to work up to working for myself at some point hopefully 🤞🏼 I just purchased a Hobart champion 145 to not break the bank until I feel more comfortable and confident in upgrading. Keep up the great work.

Oke thing i will is instead of angle i wouldve used flat bar i know its not as strong but its lighter and easier to move around and also looks better. You couldve cut a leg of the angle with your torch wouldve been quick and easy plus you couldve rounded the edges of the flat stock so they arent near as sharp i did the exact same project for an old boss one of their work trailers

What's the ductility on those Tartan-A rods. They seem pretty cool but that super high tensile strength makes me think they've got low ductility. Edit: Huh, Polaris A has 33%, and Tartan B doesn't have a listed elongation specification on their website. They seem pretty cool, but it's a shame damn near everything I work on is 7018 specified.

Pretty thin tubing there... If you are going to use obviously thin tube at least give the guy some legs on the ramp to pick up the load and stop the trailer from bucking at the hitch. Apologies for the outburst I'll go fuck myself now

It was cold rolled it will work fine but yes you know what to do
@NotSureJoeBauers Жыл бұрын
@@MeltinMetalAnthony Its too thin. They used 1/4" angle and 1" round stock for a reason. That will wear itself out from the inside and fatigue and crack. Junk.
@garys5175 Жыл бұрын
@@NotSureJoeBauers Wear itself out from the inside? Like in 50 years maybe? How many times will those ramps be lowered and raised? At most, twice per day? And maybe not even once per week?
@NotSureJoeBauers Жыл бұрын
@@garys5175 Thats not even 1/8th inch wall tubing. The vibration from the ramp bouncing around will wear that metal down and make it brittle. The thickness isn't sufficient enough as it is let alone 5 years and 15,000 miles from now. Think about it you have 1/8th in wall at best supporting up to 5k lbs point load. You can't put enough boogers on that tubing to really call it good for the loads that trailer ramp/trailer can take. If 1/8th inch was good enough they wouldn't have used 1/4 or 3/8ths plate and 1" round stock for the original ramps.
