Great job and after being in plant maintenance for over 25 yrs the only thing I would have done different is to make sure that no one got in that trailer while you're under there..... the lady didn't have a clue to the danger it was putting you in! Nice job. I think you're right about the spring twisting. I think they hit something and when it pulled the axle out of alignment it bent the spring at the other end, nothing you could really do about it other than what you did. RV's are such piles of crap. I did a ton of these repairs in when I was younger with an old Lincoln Weldenpower. I bet I've repaired leaf spring hangers on trailers at every gas station and roadside rest stop within a couple hundred miles of home.

Sharp turns with 2+ axle trailers put a side load on those hangers and with how tall they are, that's a lot of leverage where they're welded on. Lippert started putting braces on some of their hangers using a piece of angle iron going between the two pieces with the pointy end facing down. Lippert drawing 103727 has some dimensions.

The springs appear "tweaked" because you're working with a cambered axle. The camber makes the spring perch sit at an angle, with the spring tilting towards the outside of the trailer frame. It's the way they're made. Like the restrike characteristics on the rods your using. Nice.

I noticed when you were installing the leaf spring eye end it seemed to be hung up a little bit between your new hanger. Is that a concern that the leaf spring eye end is too tight? Should it have movement? It seemed too tight , I am not knowledgeable with leaf spring installation specs, but I hope that the spring has enough movement for proper wear. I doubt he hit somthing, Lippert makes all of these frames and there absolute junk from the factory. I have a welding business that does mostly boiler/pipe work but we have a contract with a big local RV dealership. I send one of our rigs weekly to that dealership for frame repairs. Alot of the time its king pin super structure repairs. If people were able to see whats holding their king pin together underneath their bedroom they wouldnt even touch these fifth wheels! paper thin material, HORRIBLE fitup, and like zero welding, and the welding that is done... is down hand with lack of fusion and porosity. Lippert is putting my kids through college.... i hope they dont adjust their QC at all lol. Nice quick repair though!
