I'm an ex-Catholic and now a Member Church of God International. I have visited a lot of other religions like The Seventh-Day Adventist Church, The United Church Of Christ In The Philippines, etc. but MCGI is the sole religion that I was convinced to join and this religion changed me. I was taught how to properly pray, I was taught what to eat and not, I was taught what to wear, I was taught how to be a disciplined true christian that is the believer to the true God. They are willing to lie, and cheat in the most outlandish ways, all the while claiming to keep the "10 commandments of God". 6. They refuse baptism to infants, "Which Saves"! They also baptize 2 times - making a mockery of the first baptism and the sacrifice of Christ. 7. They preach meat distinctions from Lev. 11 when the bible makes it clear, MEATS and what you eat have nothing to do with being Christian. 8. They reject the confession and forgiveness of sins when the bible makes it clear that Christ gave men, the power to hear confession and to forgive sins, through the name and authority of Jesus Christ. They mock it and scorn it when it is clearly taught from scripture. 9. They take tithes and offerings of their followers under false pretenses claiming to be spokesmen for God, *when they are no such thing and scarcely know anything about the bible. 10. They all profess to keep the law, but none of them DO! They lie about keeping and paying their tithes, they labor on the Sabbath day hoping no one will notice, they have others labor on the Sabbath day for them, and then tell everyone else how they keep the Sabbath day. 11. They preach you don't have to worry about repenting of sin in "this liftetime because, you will ANOTHER LIFE TIME TO REPENT IN! YEP, THAT'S RIGHT! THEY PREACH YOU HAVE 2 LIFE TIMES TO BE SAVED! They are somewhat connected, but not a direct offshoot of Iglesia ni Cristo. In 1922 a man named Teofilo Ora left Iglesia ni Cristo, and built his own offshoot sect. Later in 1928 Nicolas Antiporda Perez left Ora and built also another sect. Eliseo Soriano was a top apprentice of Perez, but after Perez' death in 1975, the succession was passed over to Levita Gugulan. Soriano resented this decision, so he founded his own sect which is now the MCGI.

As someone who has listened to the 14 sessions of their mass indoctrination, the MCGI never claimed that they are the true Church. They even say that they are not even humans yet when the Church was built by Christ. But what they're claiming is that they became members of that orginal 1st-century Christian Church by following the teachings of Christs and the apostles. They are not the THE true Church, but they became part of this same true Church, hence the word "MEMBERS" or "miembros" in the name registrations of their congregation in many countries. It's like if the catholics have the "apostolic succession" as their favorite lingo to prove their lineage, for MCGI its their understanding and obedience in the real (bible-based) teachings in the 1st-century Christian Church. In the early days of MCGI's infancy, they even encourage anybody to debate with them if anyone wants to prove their understanding wrong.

Isn't all the denominations with "restorationist" view? But actually, how can you refute their claim being the true Church when what they're saying is that they joined, or became member of, the true Apostolic Church in the Bible. Though this "being members" claim is scriptural and not through the so-called "apostolic succession" proof of the catholics, but whether their becoming members is true or not is another topic of contention. But as to them being the true Church because they joined the original true Church is logically irrefutable if you believe that the Apostles and the writers of the new Testament are of the True Church.

I am already a member of this church since i was 2 yrs old. I wasn't being serious about my faith throughout my youth but at the age of 15, I became serious and became conscious of my deeds and got baptized on May 13, 2022. I compared lots and lots of christian denominations to the Members Church of God International including the Iglesia ni Cristo, Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints, Jehovah's Witnesses, and I should say that the Doctrines of the Members Church of God International are the most judicious and sensible.

Their beliefs come straight from the bible. How can it be from all over the place? I've watched their debates and every time they speak they open the book and quote it from the bible. There's just no way around it when debating with them because they speak from the book. Unless the opposing is using another bible or book than the debate is useless. Comparing apples to oranges just doesn't make sense. As far as my observation and my knowledge of the King James version, They speak the truth.

He's not former Iglesia ni Cristo. He is two sects away descended from INC. A man named Teofilo Ora quit INC and founded a new sect. Then a Nicolas Antiporda Perez came out from Ora's sect, and founded another. Eli Soriano was a top apprentice of Perez. But when Perez died, leadership succession was passed over to a woman instead of him. This made Soriano furious that he left that sect and founded his own that is today's MCGI.

@Readytoharvest You might be interested in doing a video on the Reino de Deus -cult- church in Brasil. They are a very influential neo-Pentacostal Health and Wealth denomination that has spread throughout the country. Another Brasilian denomination you might find interesting is the Spiritist Church. I think they have a presence in Canada and a few other countries, but they're also very present in Brasil. They consider themselves Christian but have syncretized many ideas and practices from 19th century spiritualism, conducting seances and dealing with spirits.

No-- there could be influence, but Reino de Deus is not connected to his movement. As far as I understand, RdD is fairly decentralized, and its roots are in Pentecostal Prosperity-Gospel Televangelists (think Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland).

I think the Brazilian spiritist churches are related to the Caribbean/west indies ones where both are the offshoot of the African (Sub-Saharan) spiritist churches. In Nigeria (where I grew up) I used to think that these were unique to this country only until I found they were all throughout West Africa, Central/East Africa and even in Southern Africa. Unless you have experience with them, Information about them is usually kept secret (from the stigma associated with some of their practices in my experience) and I would be surprised If this channel was able to come up with a meaningful information concerning them.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo is a Catholic offshoot I believe; since the Philippines seem to have a much stronger Catholic influence than Protestant, I would presume this one likely is a Catholic offshoot as well.

Why do Catholics “Pray for the dead”? Is it Biblical? It is associated by offering a novena prayer, or having masses, or simply doing private prayer in heart, for our deceased (died) relatives and friends. And by this, it shows our greatest acts of charity & love we can offer for the departed. Because the prayer helps the souls of the dead who were trapped in purgatory, so that they can enter more quickly into the fullness of heaven. This is recorded in catholic doctrine written in the catechism of the Catholic Church, (CCC) it says: (CCC # 1371) “The Eucharistic sacrifice is also offered for the faithful departed who “have died in Christ but are not yet wholly purified,” so that they may be able to enter into the light and peace of Christ…..” However, various anti-Catholic Protestants condemned it as unbiblical act, and of paganism, the fact that, our catholic practice of offering prayers for the dead is actually biblical. Because long before Christ came in New Testament, prayer of the dead is already Jewish practice as we can read in the Old Testament: 1. Prophet Nehemiah, a servant of God who prayed for his ancestors. Nehemiah 1:6 (Good News Bible): “Look at me, Lord, and hear my prayer, as I pray day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess that we, the people of Israel, have sinned. My ancestors and I have sinned.” Now the question is, what is the status of his ancestors? Are his ancestors alive or dead? This is what written, please read: Nehemiah 2:5 (Good News Bible) and then i said to the emperor, “If your majesty is pleased with me and is willing to grant my request, let me go to the land of Judah, to the city where my ancestors are buried, so that I can rebuild the city.” It is clear that the ancestors of Nehemiah are dead and have been buried. It is also clear that Nehemiah prayed for his dead ancestors. 2. Just because he believed that his prayers could help the souls of the dead freed from their sins, to where? Not in “heaven” because there are no place for sins in God’s place. But not also in “hell” because once the soul gets there, it’s no longer be freed anymore, since this place is eternal damnation. Therefore, it indicates that there’s a place wherein the remaining sins of souls can indeed be cleanse & purified & freed for final entry into heaven, and that is what Catholic Church called “purgatory.” That’s why Catholics offers prayer for the dead is useful (helpful) for the souls of the dead would free themselves from purgatory into heaven. 3. Even, St. Paul also prayed for his dead friend Onesiphorpus to the Lord. 2 Timothy 1:16-18 (New American Bible): [16] May the Lord grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus because he often gave me new heart and was not ashamed of my chains. [17] But when he came to Rome, he promptly searched for me and found me. [18] May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day. And you know very well the services he rendered in Ephesus. (Note the past tense in all of Paul’s references to him) here St. Paul prays for his dead friend Onesiphorus that he find mercy from the Lord on that day. “On that day” this phrase shown a clear eschatological connotation for the last day, this means, St. Paul is asking for God’s mercy on Onesiphorus before the throne of judgment. 4. St. Peter prayed to the Lord for his dead disciple, Tabitha, and restored her to life Acts 36-37, 40 (New American Bible): [36] now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated means Dorcas). She was completely occupied with good deeds and almsgiving. [37] Now during those days she fell sick and died, so after washing her, they laid (her) out in a room upstairs. [40] Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed. Then he turned to her body and said, “Tabitha, rise up.” she opened her eyes, saw peter, and sat up. Not just St. Peter offers prayer for the dead, but, in other instances, he teaches us to proclaim gospels even to the dead: 1 peter 4:6 (New American Bible): “for this is why the gospel was preached even to the dead that, though condemned in the flesh in human estimation, they might live in the spirit in the estimation of God.” Since, we who live in this earth hoping that the spirits (souls) of the dead will live with God in heaven, that’s why when we made mass for them, we’re not just offering prayers for them, but accompanying (associated) with liturgy of the word as well, 5. Therefore, it’s lawful to pray for the dead, why? Just because: Sirach 7:33 (New Jerusalem Bible): “let your generosity extend to all the living, do not withhold it even from the dead.” Generosity is for all, any acts of generosity, such as kindness by deeds, prayers, mercy, charities, is for all, not just for the living, but the dead as well. That’s why Catholics flocked to their churches & cemeteries on all souls day, to offer prayers in behalf of their departed relatives & friends. Even the Lord himself bless to those who have a compassion not just to the living, but to the dead as well. I believe they only owned the building but rented it out when Soriano died. The renters can do whatever business they please unless there are restrictions in the rental contract. If that's the only criticism that they can throw at MCGI and not about the doctrine, then I'd rather not listen to these detractors as their ill-motive is clear.

You can tell who are the Bible believing christians by their application of the Bible, The Roman Catholic Church does not go by the Bible. They go by traditions and the word of God is null and void to them in many, many areas. Why would you think that that would be Bible Christianity? There were many believers and followers of Christ outside of Roman Catholicism throughout history.

Ignatius, Irenaeus, Polycarp, Clement, Justin Martyr, the Didache, etc. And the thing about Constantine is an easily disproveable myth. Constantine made Christianity legal in the Roman Empire. I don't know why some people try to mistakingly twist the historical reality of what he did. How does him legalizing Christianity somehow mean he created the Catholic Church? That claim is baseless.

Basically because the Bible tells us that people saw Jesus ascend up into heaven as a physical body. You can call it a resurrected body, but it was a physical body nonetheless of the risen Christ. Which is how we know when Jesus returns, it will be with the resurrected body He ascended into heaven with.

The roman catholics believe that Jesus is still human (both human and divine). And the catholics even believe that Mary ascended to heaven body and soul. So it's not far fetched that they also believe Jesus is still human in heaven. But the MCGI only believe in what they can read in the Bible. If the Bible (Jesus) says that: JOHN 3:13 (ERV) And no man hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended out of heaven, even the Son of man, which is in heaven. Then that is what the MCGI will believe. But the catholics still believe that Mary ascended to heaven body and soul because catholicism also believes in what they call "tradition" (meaning what they believed to be beliefs of the early Christians can become the catholic doctrine).
