Since some of the utter idiots at War Thunder top tier are too stupid to fly the F-16, here is a simple guide (full of memes). The Summer event grind is removing my braincells. Lets hope that gaijin does not further ruin top tier jets with a F-15 or a Su-27 in the upcoming update.

Thr f16 does struggle a decent bit compared to the other 4th generation fighters on offer mostly due to its lack of a good long range option in some cases and at all in others.

The F-16 is my favourite 4th Gen to fly in game. It just lets you do whatever. Honestly it’s just a treat to fly even when I’m not fighting. Mind you prior to the removal of the G-limiter it was very tedious to fly, that said it did teach you how to do speed management. And I feel I’m made a much better pilot because of it.

I know this video is sevral months old at this point but I have the F16ADF in the Italian tech tree and I can tell you, all you American mains still complaining that the Su27 and Mig29 are OP, please stop now. The F16 is by far one of the best medium to short range aircraft in the game to this day a whole year after its intro in to the game. I’ve been able beat my friends in game who are more experienced and better players then I am more then a few times and they’ve had a fairly consistent experience with me and we’ve all agreed the F16 is a monster.

This video is somewhat outdated now. Yes, the JAS39 at the moment does have some great dogfighting performance and can keep up with F-16s. Also be careful of the Mirage 4000 which can do it too.

This video is outdated. It was made before the F-16 flight model buff. There isnt really a optimal speed anymore, the F-16A blk.10 is the best dogfighter ingame now regardless of speed, unless you try to one-circle a Mirage 2000 or Gripen.

Custom skin i made, its the Texas flag btw. Google the "457th SPADS Flag Jet". Thats a real F-16 stationed here at NAS JRB Fort Worth, ive seen it a few times irl myself before it lost that livery.

A bit late but no one said it so i'll put it here Japanese F-16 AJ doesn't get Aim7M's it gets the F version, currently its the worst F16(?) Though your video is still correct even with su 27 and f 15 added the f16 is easy mode on steroids , people are just terrible at flying it.

Actually the F-16AJ is arguably the best F-16A (not counting F-16C) in air combat. The AIM-7Fs have so many artificial buffs ingame that they overperform enough to be identical to AIM-7Ms. The F-16AJ is a Block 10 chassis, meaning its the lightest and best at dogfighting. America and China only have heavier Block 15 and Block 20 MLU to get sparrows on a F-16; while Japan gets sparrows on the lightest F-16 possible. The AJ is the best F-16A for air-to-air.

@@mavislenya1110 in real life, the AIM-7F could not track anything below 2500 meters due to not having an Inverse-monopulse seeker. But ingame, all radar missiles are modelled as if they have one, so the 7F is identical ingame to the 7M (an AIM-7F with Inverse Monopulse seeker). In the files the two are basically the same exact missile. Also, the Block 15 and 20 have bigger elevators, but they also weigh alot more, so they retain energy worse in a dogfight than the Block-10.
