Did you know that one time in Toronto, Canada the Sonic series was very popular? Everyone wanted to buy a copy of Sonic 1. The thing is, stores ended up running out of stock quickly. Because of this, the stores ended up increasing the prices of the games by 25-50%, varying from store to store. However, a side effect of this is that all the other games had to have their prices increased as well. This phenomenon has since been referred to as “Sonic inflation”.
