It is touching seeing Elvis being a regular guy with his Army buddy in the context of what he had become by that time.Elvis had a big great heart!

This shows us again what a natural and giving person Elvis was. He freely gave his time to his friends and would go out of his way to accommodate and help them. So many of the people in the Elvis story are gone now and it is great to have captured some time with Rex and Elisabeth and to bring light to their stories of Elvis at a time when everything seemed so perfect for him. Thanks as always.

Interesting to hear Rex's story about his time with Elvis. There aren't many people left who knew Elvis personally, great to see these interviews documented on video before they all pass

There are fewer of these people, who had personal connections, and experiences with Elvis, as time goes on. I appreciate the effort you make, to contact them, and let them share their stories…. Good to see you again!

Spa Guy true story mid '80s I am sure that I actually rode in that white 2 door Lincoln Mark 2 - The owner knew me in Hollywood and told me to take a ride with him on Sunset boulevard and when in the car said look under the sun visor - I did and engraved on a gold plaque with black lettering it read Made Expressly for Elvis Presley by the Ford Motor company, Joe Nania

I saw a video a few days ago where a couple car restoration guys found a 50s Cadillac Limo that was customized on the inside and was supposed to have belonged to Elvis. They got it running but it was in need of total restoration and they were trying to find out more info about the car and apparently Graceland wasn't helpful which is no surprise. I left a comment for them to check out your channel and also reach out to a couple others who may be able to help so hopefully this ends up being another one of Elvis' cars from the Early years and it gets saved. I can't remember the name of their channel now but if you search Elvis Cadillac Limo it might come up. The video is only a few weeks old and they are somewhere near Knoxville if I remember right. Anyway thanks for another great video and can't wait for the next one!

See this what should of done when Elvis was here . Elvis should been interviews talk about the good old days and take Elvis to places exactly how billy going back and relive the foot steps Elvis did . Elvis should of done a documentary and do filming talking while Elvis videoing telling us "I been here and drove their "just to get Elvis involved with life . Elvis became sad lonely depressed and and sad no one could came up with a documentary to get Elvis to do but they just made him sad in his later years just doing nothing only singing in the same state it's ashame that none of the manphis guys didn't give Elvis a hobbies to do documentary keep Elvis bussy away from the same old concerts 💝🇭🇲 Thank you billy trey another good video hi from Sydney Australia 💝

There was a white Mark 2 that was auctioned off in 1999 directly from the estate. The buyer was a furniture store owner I believe in Texas. On an Oprah Winfrey episode the entire show was all about the auction contents.

Car Nerd here. 3:13 Rex is 100% correct, Spa Guy, not quite😊- the car was a Continental, NOT a Lincoln Continental. Ford made Continental Division it’s own stand-alone business unit from ‘55-‘58. So Continental was the make, and Mark II was the model. Continental was launched as a cut ABOVE Lincoln - the cars were handmade, and only for 2 model years, 1956 & 1957. Ford Motor Company apparently lost money on every Mark II that was built. The recession year of 1958 plus the impending failure of the also new Edsel Division caused FoMoCo to close down Continental as its own brand/division. The name was then recycled to be a top Lincoln model. Chrysler did a similar thing - Imperial was its own brand above Chrysler for a couple of stints, only to become the namesake for a top of the line Chrysler model.

At 1:04...re. the photograph of Elvis and Rex...those two soldiers did NOT enter the Army at the same time according to the stripes showing on the sleeves!! Someone isn't telling the truth!!
@SpaGuy
@SpaGuy Ай бұрын
They did go in at the same time.. Rex was promoted before Elvis which made Elvis very jealous.. Rex told me that Elvis said to him the reason he did not get promoted was because the Army thought it might not look good.. Also Elvis had an extra unearned stripe added to his uniform coat between Germany and home.. Look at the photos of him arriving in the USA you will se him one stripe ahead of Rex.. Can you imaging Elvis being jealous of anyone?? He was!! By the way Rex is in the inducution photos with Elvis so they did go in together but did not know each other at that time..
