Nico’s form is a night and day improvement over what it was a few years ago. Brilliant performance for being so young (no pun intended) and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in his junior and senior years

@@cber5077 Yeah, I'm glad that the level in the NCAA is so high right now but at the same time it feels a little wrong that I'm the same age as Olin (5 years older than Nico) and I graduated undergrad 3 years ago. Overall it'll prepare him better for when/if he goes pro but it feels a little ridiculous that there's so many 24-26 year old guys in the NCAA.

You guys are on here acting like the kid is 30. He's 25. Not much difference between a 22 year old and a 25 year old. Blame the NCAA for shutting down for a year and a half for covid if you're that upset. BYU's average age on their XC squad is older than Olin....
@TheBowman5
@TheBowman5 2 жыл бұрын
Lot of weird Nico comments here. Underclassmen very very rarely win these kind of races - he ran fantastic, and will be winning for years to come. The fact Olin is a 7th year is a testament to him sticking with it for this long. That means he had to deal with a regular year of redshirting + injuries + Covid year. Coming from another 25 year old, it's very hard to keep a fire burning for 7 years. Side note : every NCAA athlete runs against 25/26 year olds from BYU / Southern Utah every year - after 20, it's a pretty even playing field anyway.

@@Whale15 doesnt really matter in running tbh. Jacob inge- is a prime example. You think he cares whether his competition is ‘his age’? Running is running, after high-school its ‘Men’s’ category, no longer ‘boys’. I think its well deserved for the guy that won. Its not like he’s won 7 years in a row. It took him 7 years to win imagine the disappointment of losing to someone that just entered sheesh; there its not a problem right?
