Amazing. I raced BMX as a kid 40 years ago, back then the sport was dominated by Americans like Stu Thomsen and Greg Hill and raced on real dirt tracks. Now we see riders from all around the world and it is raced on synthetic tracks. The control these riders have over their machines is incredible, the sport has totally transformed and now is an Olympic sport. I never would have guessed this 40 years ago.

I want to thank Japan and all the fantastic crews. Amazing production quality to showcase the athletes in these Olympics. Best I've seen, bravo! The Matrix style multi-camera pan is a work of art! The love and dedication to every sport I've watched. It has truly touched my heart all the way here down under. Thank you.

6:29 this is when he wins. He absorbs the jump more aggressively than any other rider, allowing him to get his weight back on the ground quicker, allowing a few peddles before the next section; everybody else coasts. From then on out he was perfect and couldn’t be caught. 🇳🇱

The physical output in only 40 seconds is mind blowing. They were still heaving for air at the end of the ceremony. Crying didn't help I guess. 10 years later as an engineer I can truly appreciate how much power the track throws at you to absorb. While you add as much extra as you can... Truly remarkable.

makes me emotional to see a hellow Colombian win an Olympic medal in BMX!!! Here in Colombia we enjoy riding bicycles a whole lot and bmx is big but a lot of kids don't join the sport or don't take it serious because they don't have the support or they have to work. Imagine the talent we could have. We do have more track cyclist and MTB cyclist so that's pretty big but not as big as it should be.

Time for a change! I lived the sport and had so much fun but it’s time. These tracks need to be 3 times as long so that the rider in first through third can have lead changes and it be more about endurance. I also think all races should be in dirt.the race needs to last more than 15 seconds. Some small changes could go a long way
