For those of you who are wondering why the first few laps the guy with the motor led, is because drafting is hugely important and they all agree to not actually sprint until the last few laps to use less energy and more strategies, whoever is in first place uses the most energy and when you sprint, drafting is highly important, you use 30% more energy in the front

I feel for him too. In addition to this, his bike broke while contesting his qualifying attempt for the flying 200. It was a tough thing, because while I’m sure he is a superb cyclist, he wasn’t really on the same level as the medalists this year, and he always looked genuinely sorry for making a scene.

Basically like that, because Keirin was invented in Japan as an organized sport. It's centered around gambling (basically mechanical horses) and all bikes (in Japan) are made to spec, heavily controlled by private regulatory authorities.

Reminds me of the time an English speaking German friend stayed with me... Anytime someone who didn't speak with the Western American or General American dialect spoke, he needed a translation! He had particular trouble with the Inland & Mountain Southern dialect!

The initial slow movement is due to observe the front ones strategy and utilize the drag force by using wake of the front rider to save energy. whenever the front one loss the momentum, the rear one will increase his momentum.

antonio moujalli The rider at the rear will have a slight advantage due to some air resistance. It's all about that slight advantage really; the rider at the front has to essentially do "more work".

Lance Pena dude already told him. For draft if your in the beginning to help as sort of a wind tunnel. Like why birds fly in a V formation for wind and to Habra good speed. To start in front would mean you have a lot more force then others

Adderall Two avoiding pulling their foot out of the pedal. It's a second way to ensure the foot stays clipped in at height intensity sprinting.

Adderall Their bikes have fixed gears. The rear wheel moves only when the pedal moves, and stops when the pedaling stops. No brakes, so the way to slow down during high speeds is by pushing the pedal with one foot and pulling (hence the strap) with the other.
