What a game !! Medvedev has earned my respect today. He is the future after big 3 retire. What a change in mood, was depressed after 2 sets being a Rafa fan.and now feeling as I I have won it. I have immense respect for Roger and Djokovic but I am sure the way Rafa fought to conquer medvedev who is the present us champ and playing the best tennis of his life , he would have surely won against Djokovic too.

This is the happiest moment in the history of tennis: 1) 21 grand slams, finally surpassing Federer and Novak of course. 2) Came back from 2 sets down to do it. 3) Did it through injury and covid. 4) Shut all those haters up for good. This god of tennis has made the world so unbelievably happy, absolutely congratulations on what seems like a impossible feat 👏👏👏

must be bitter sweet for him look at lack of emotion in that smile at the end. he knows he shouldnt be there. 16 days after covid going to AUS when law says 19 days minimum. Djokovic exported out of country on faulty basis. Umpires letting him rest more than the rules allow. etc etc. I love Rafa but I wish he got his 21st fair and square

I always said Rafa had a better chance of completing his double career grand slam before Roger or Novak did since it had been so unlikely for anyone to beat him at the french. After Novak beat Rafa at the french in 2021, i was in awe. I think that loss was in the back of his mind during this match when he was down and it drove Rafa to dig deep for this championship at the end. So glad to see Rafa finally get that second australian, 13 years after his first, and after multiple lost australian finals, i’ve been watching and hoping every year for this. Im so happy my hero hit 21 grand slams and finally got that double career grand slam, 🥲
