So many comments about how it's ridiculous how a "white boy" is using this. It's a hair product, it doesn't once specify for who it should be applied, I don't see why it makes a difference if it is helping many others with the same problem I do. Apologises to those who didn't enjoy, but thank you for the support from the rest.

this product is not made for the texture of Caucasian hair. It is formulated to straighten hair that is much more coarse. The chemicals in it are very strong-- they need to be to straighten the type of hair it is intended to be used on. It is also very damaging to the hair----bad idea to use it especially for Caucasians

I know this video was posted a few years ago, but if you’re still relaxing your hair be sure to only touch up your new growth during follow up treatments. In other words, if it’s your 1st time relaxing your hair, apply the relaxer from roots throughout the ends (in that order), then rinse, shampoo and deep condition hair. When 2-3 inches of new growth come in 1-3 months later, only apply the relaxer to that area. The mid shaft and ends of your hair will already be straight from the 1st relaxer so to avoid hair damage and breakage, be sure to only relax the new growth. Sincerely, a 20yr cosmetologist 🤗
@Rasheens-Story2 жыл бұрын
Well he’s a guy so I I’m sure he gets his hair trimmed frequently so even if it gets on the ends it wouldn’t matter because it’s always gonna have new growth with stronger fibers growing out after each relaxer

@Marissa Lopes Hi Marissa, for people who have curly hair, it's very easy to not go over the 'line of demarcation' because the new growth that grows in (e.g. 2 inches) will be curly whereas the hair that was previously relaxed will still be straight. Once hair has been permanently relaxed (straightened), that is the person's new hair texture. Only new growth will grow out with the person's DNA texture. I hope this provided you with clarity.

First time I've seen a white person relax their hair, you actually didn't do a bad job. Word of advice, get yourself 2 types of combs. You're going to need an Afro comb and a rat tail comb. The Afro comb is to part your hair and evenly distribute the product. the rat tail is to comb your hair after you've left the relaxer on for a couple of minutes - maybe 3/4 way of your allotted time. Comb out the product, then reapply whatever is on the comb back on the hair. Get (or make your own)hair treatment, especially one that is full of protein and natural oils as this will prevent your hair from feeling a bit like straw. Line your scalp with Vaseline, it'll create a small barrier between your scalp and the relaxer. It helps with burning. Hope this helps.
@vivianogunniyi93488 жыл бұрын
You mean the other way round the Rat tail comb for parting and the the afro comb for combing through your hair..
@cathymwangiru23998 жыл бұрын
Vivian Ogunniyi I usually use a rat tail to comb because it gets rid of all the hair that was weakened/destroyed during the process of relaxing. The thin bristles also help me know if my hair is done "cooking" 😂. I'm not knocking the use of an afro comb please don't get me wrong, it just doesn't work for me. 😊
@vivianogunniyi93488 жыл бұрын
Gotcha,I thought you meant the other way round because I have natural hair and a rat tail comb would quite literally rip the hair off my head.

When I was in cosmetology school we relaxed all kinky to curly or Coily hair textures . Hair texture doesn’t have a race attached to it . I’ve seen kinkier hair from different parts of the world and relaxed a few that I was taught to use a“super” relaxer on (the hair is more resistant to straightening ).Real stylist know that relaxer is not only for “black “ hair. It’s to relax curls regardless of the person’s complexion .

As a Licensed Cosmetologist I see nothing wrong! Do you boo! As he said it's for the hair... and as those of us with sense know that you can be of any "race" and have any texture hair just as you can have any eye color as well as any skin tone! Which its apparent that he has a curly 3a 3b texture on this video. However as a professional I would suggest with him doing it himself, that he be sure and use a mild relaxer and be sure to deep condition his hair once a week for at least 20 minutes with heat. #itsyourthang

He is clearly British, and I'll tell you from experience, unless you live in a major city like London or Manchester etc, afro hair salon, shops, or products are not easy to come by. Plus, the internet is an easy option. What may come natural to some in their towns and cities, may not be an option to others. Time may bring changes though.

Cakey Bacon his hair is like a 3a-3b and it didn't work for your hair?? use beautiful textures temp straightener, that works for all hair types and pretty easy to find. i have 3c-4a hair and i used the john frida stuff before and it worked fine for me, granted its only temp till u put water to the hair but its not meant to permanently straighten hair. it's still more healthier than a full on relaxer though and the way this kid did it just made me scream.

a perm and relaxer are different a perm make ur hair curly or wavy and a relaxer straightens it if ur hair is still wavy or curly after a Relaxer then ur hair wasnt fully processed correctly. After a Relaxer the only hair that will be curly is ur new growth.

+Milo's Lifestyle that's not the funny part. The funny part is its a product that's so easy to get & honestly the same price in the store vs online. Black girls been doing this in their kitchen since forever so to see it from a different perspective is funny. In gonna post this on any video I see like this: The black women on the box are meant to appeal to the product’s target audience. It’s marketing 101. BUT!!! (and it’s a big but) just because there are black women on the box does NOT MEAN it isn’t meant for other races and ethnicities. The product is marketed to black women but not all black women use relaxers. Usage should depend on your hair. Not your race. And I LOVE his results!

@SuperWigMaker8 жыл бұрын
For whites' people hair it does magic, it is not as good for African hair, that is true. But it will make your hair sleek and you can repeat it as many times as you want because it is actually a keratin bonding technique, you can't damage your hair by adding this product as it is, only the heat you will use could damage it but you can be careful.
@roshanmiracles2_8 жыл бұрын
Ok never knew thanks for the info. Have a great and blessed day.
@SuperWigMaker8 жыл бұрын
Roshanmiracles It can literally straighten the curl pattern but keratin treatment will do little for the texture. It will smooth it out a little bit but it is not that strong that it will flatten all the tiny kinks and twists that exist in very coarse kinky hair. So us European, who has usually silky hair, it can do magic because our shaft is silky enough but we might have huge bends (aka curls) and they can very easily soften to the point the hair is pin straight. African people can still benefit from it but expect the hair might look like you mildly straightened the hair into a straight fluff (if that makes sense). It depends also on how nerve your hair strands have, the more nerve the harder to take the natural state of it into another state by a keratin treatment.
@PoptartArt6 жыл бұрын
Great video !! I am a Stylist just make sure to use a mild relaxer and rinse relaxer out four times with shampoo on the box only that shampoo no other it deactivates the relaxer and conditioner is important and a leave in it’s a 10 great leave in . You can also go to a Stylist that usually relaxer hair and have experience with over the years of all hair types. I would advise to only do this no more than three times a year and always use a leave in it’s a 10 is the name of it !! And do not over process by leaving relaxer in too long follow directions. Do not wash hair before again do not wash your hair the day of and do not scratch your hair while your hair is processing or before relaxer.

This dude just slaps it up there and everything is okay. Like thank you for making this video. Just a little advice, to be sure that the perm reaches most of the hair, section your hair off rather than slapping the perm randomly on your hair. Also, put the perm on the parts of the hair that hasn't been permed, which is the hair closest to the root. That will keep the hair from becoming damaged from breakage.

combing may get an even application but it damages your hair, when your hair is wet or has product in it is much weaker and prone to more damage so brushing it will cause easier breakage (If you did want to brush it make sure to use wide toothed combs)

The only thing I see in these comments are people complaining about OTHER people complaining about him putting in a relaxer, when no one is complaining about him putting the relaxer in his hair. Seems like you people started an argument with yourselves.

King Javonique Well this product does recommend for African American hair. No said he can't use but it probably won't work properly for his hair type because of the chemical the put in it.

Justme23 Love but his hair was originally curly. You don't have to be black to have curly hair my hairs curlier than my friends who's half Jamaican and I'm Spanish so I'm white and we use the same hair products. Curly hair isn't specific to one race

PRO-TIP: Apply Vaseline on your scalp and around your hairline and ears, well if you don’t have the same hair cut as his. This will prevent you from burning your scalp/skin off. For those asking, yes it will keep your hair permanently straight. However any new growth will have to be relaxed. Put the product on only the new growth! (If you apply it on previously relaxed/straightened hair, it will become brittle and break off). ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE on dyed hair!! Unless your mission is to go bald. Good luck

NOOO DONT DO THIS ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR HAIR TEXTURE.. I'm a hairstylist and CRINGING. Not only are box relaxers terrible formulas but they are too much for your hair texture. The way you applied this was soo wrong there is a science to this hence why I went to school and payed thousands to learn the proper application. Plus to anyone watching after you relaxed your hair you can't go over it again at all...only the new growth meaning you have to part in sections. Someone watching this is gonna mess up and burn their scalp up or over process. UGH I'm sorry but I'm passionate about warning people. Go to a professional please.

Appreciate your message. Do you have any suggestions? i have hair exactly like this dude and it can get annoying as hell. This video convinced me and I was about to purchase this product until I read your comment. What would you recommend to people with such hair? Also what are your thoughts on products like Wella or Silis?
@jasminelange31988 жыл бұрын
Ethan Hunt A keratin treatment. They are drying but it's ok you're a guy and I'm sure you will be getting your hair cut often. There are also smoothing treatments you can have done that are not keratin treatments. If you can't go to the salon to get it done then try the Zotos brand they have a kit that smooths your hair for like 2 months I believe. You can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply. It cost more then that box relaxer BUT it's not harmful and is gentle and easy to apply and great for your hair type. I have used it before. I'm only familiar with Wells's color line btw. Thanks for understanding my comment

I got the same problem as this guy, the product you mentioned does not ship to Sweden and i really don't want to spend 200USD going to a saloon and do it. Currently i use keratin based schampo, conditioner and packing or whatever it's called in English, i mean it do smooth out the hair and curls but after two hours my hair goes crazy and mess up my style, i always blowdry and use a flat iron and i only schampo and condition etc about every fourth day in order to keep my hair as healthy as possible, but i want to be able to skip the flatiron part to prevent atleast that heat from my hair so as of now a salon or what this guy is the only solution for me.

Relaxers are not the healthiest thing to do to the hair no doubt. I however disagree that his texture is a reason to avoid them. People w type 4 hair have the easiest hair type for a relaxer to break down. There is quite a lot of reversion as curls get looser. Looser curl patterns tend to have more protective layers making it harder for a relaxer to straighten/ permanently straighten. Seen it first hand although it was a mild relaxer I bought for a white guy that didn't quite take.

I'm crying, you said kitchen. 😂😂😂 But for real, though. My scalp felt sore just thinking about it. Haven't had that creamy crack in a few years. I ain't about that life. Was for 10~ years, though.

Guuuuys, here’s an advice: If your hair is really sensitive you could try tanino hair straightening, it is without chemicals and doesn’t damage your hair. It lasts up to 3 months :)

Noooo don't pleaseeee relaxers are so harmful not just for your hair but your health curls are wonderful😍 from the loosest to the tightest butttt..if you want to go ahead just be careful, read the INSTRUCTIONS, don't leave it on too long, always do it in a VERY well ventilated area, and be very particular about after care(essentially baby your hair) good luck 👍 relaxer/chemical straighter users ♥️

Ps hair straighteners are great and work wonders though...just saying😂😂😂😂
@crissidoll8 жыл бұрын
Only appy the relaxer to the grown out roots. You're over-processing the previously relaxed hair, which causes damage (dryness, splits, breaking). Also, your curly hair, if you ever decided to grow it out, would look so gorgeous!

***** But there's plenty of people with curly hair who aren't black.. It wouldn't necessarily make him look black. His hair alone won't affect his facial features.

+Elis Tablehockey Whether it looks good is really a matter of preference. And what's wrong with 'looking black'??? Black folks aren't the only ones with curly hair anyway..

I absolutely thought your hair was beautiful before the relaxer. I am glad it worked for you, no one knows your struggles with your hair but you.. keep up the good work

Use oil on the scalp to protect from burning. Apply it with an implement not the wooden spatula. You can comb it through but don't touch the scalp as it will irritate and cause burns. Never wash hair for at least three days before putting a relaxer in. Don't leave on the neutralizer for long periods it's there to wash out the relaxer as it's still processing on your hair and scalp, wash it thoroughly several times until you feel it rinses out white as they have colour indicator. Condition with a really good product, I would also do a protein treatment after conditioner, some systems have one that you can do a protein treatment before neutralising. Lastly, if I had your hair I would not opt to have chemical as they can have impact on your own health and are linked to fibroids in women. Just cut your hair to a style that works for your curl pattern, naturally it's not worth your health as chemicals are not good for your system, don't be putting in these things in yout hair. We black people use relaxers to make it easier to manage our difficult to manage hair in most cases and to look like everyone else, at least historically this was the case. if I didn't have to use them I wouldn't.
