I find the method I learned in Japan easier than the method I learned in fashion school--kinda flicking your needle hand up and down like a see saw while you push the fabric through. Still awkward as hell and I'm already terrible at hand sewing. (haha yes, I don't really wear jewelry often but I have a fondness for my wedding rings. Usually take them off when I'm working though.)

Hi Zoe Hong, Do you feel like It's important for designers to make their own flat templates using adobe illustrator? I would feel ashame if I used your templates to create my flats because I have this mentality that the easiest way to something is wrong and that everything should be created by you.

No, it's not important to create your own flat template, but you should make adjustments if your customers have special fit needs, like if you're dressing a tall customer, a plus size, etc.

Analyze the body and make a template. You can use an existing one and modify it. Broad or narrow shoulders? Full bust or no? Broad or narrow shoulders? Lengths will generally be the same, like wrists always match up with low hip/croth level, etc.
