@Emy Sutari who doesn't have teacher? Like picking up a violin and play? You sound jealous
@arianah88423 жыл бұрын
@Emy Sutari yes she has teachers but no one teaches emotion. Everyone gets taught the same basics, but it's the motivation and determination one has as a musician that makes their music sound beautiful. She obviously can pour her emotions well into the techniques she has already learned. However if someone doesn't have control of those or cant translate them into their music, it sounds flat. It may be played technically correct but has no emotion in it.
@winterheat3 жыл бұрын
@Emy Sutari yeah, so she has a teacher, and what's your point. So you are trying to refute her because she has a teacher? I start to find out there are all types of people in the world, include the lady who said this guy is not good on the ski slope and that guy is not good on the ski jump, and she took off the lift chair and could not even ski 20 feet well
@disneybudgetinn37526 жыл бұрын
Young musicians like her play without hesitation, no brooding, no soppy sound, no affectation, just straight delivery. This baroque music is fitting for their pure, youthful, and optimistic playing.
@n6616 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. That's what makes her interpretation so unique, unlike many other child violinists who seem to aspire to the affectation of adult playing in the hope of being more 'expressive'. (This ostentatious style seems to be more popular amongst mainstream audience too, which is why the other 1st prize winner Christian Li was the audience's choice) Christian Li is very talented too but I got a feeling that sophisticated listeners who understand musicality will prefer Chloe. I hope she wouldn't lose the lightness as an adult. I'm not surprised her favourite violinist is Gil Shaham. Full of optimism and no annoying affectation.
@thetruth48656 жыл бұрын
@@n661 Agreed. Gil is one who is a thinker and his playing demonstrates what he is thinking.

It's not that she's technically perfect but her poise and personality--she's telling the audience she's ENJOYING and not mere 'playing'. Very true. Although it's questionable wether that being mature before their time is always a good thing. I have met a few former child musical prodigies. Some recall a perfectly happy childhood & go on to love music & enjoy continued success, while others had enough of the daily grind, gave up as soon as they could, regretting a lost childhood & recalling forced practice & physical abuse. To be clear i'm in no way making accusations in this case. Some kids just can't get enough of playing, & you probably need to be pretty good by the age of ten to stand a chance of becoming a world class soloist, if that's the plan.

I hate this word "TALENT" this is purely practice, will power, discipline. You don't use a word talent, it's insult to those who tried so hard to reach this level this young.

I look at her again willingly because she not only performs very well, but her looks, her attitude without any reverential fear, makes her authoritative even in front of elderly and expert musicians. If I were the violinist on the left, I would be rather uneasy to have such a little girl in front of me, endowed with all this talent; and at the same time I would have great satisfaction playing with her in that role.

My oldest daughter just started band at 11 years old, and I found this video while searching for inspiring clips for her to watch. This young girl displays excellence in every sense of the word. The dedication it must have taken to surpass the skills of those triple her age, to have no fear preforming in front of such a large crowd at a momentous event, and to execute such difficult masterworks from memory as flawlessly as she did is are all fantastic feats almost too amazing to describe. This is what we should be encouraging our children to want for themselves. Excellence, pure and simple.

All true except "very talented" is the mother of all under-statements. Chloe is 14 now, and in the past year she has given performances of at least 6 works - Mozart's violin concerto #2, Vaughan Williams' "The Lark Ascending," and the four works that make up her "Richmond" recital - that are among the very greatest performances of those works that have _ever_ been given, by _anyone_ . @@dangerousmilks I doubt we are in disagreement. I have followed Chloe's progress very closely and I know perfectly well that she has worked extremely hard and that she could never have got to where she is without huge self-discipline and determination. That is something I have emphasised and repeated often in comments. Equally, however, I know that without her God given genius. literally _no_ amount of hard work could have got her to where she is. To get to such extraordinary heights requires both: genius and an enormous amount of hard work (coupled with excellent tuition and an excellent support team). I hope you return to your violin in the near future!

@@jackburgess8579 I must’ve misinterpreted due to another video of Chloe’s that I commented on, my mistake. But she is very good at what she does to say the very least. Everything she does in her performances are extraordinary. And I have to buy a new violin, I used a school instrument all throughout middle and high school orchestra class because of financial reason, but seeing her makes me want to pick up violin again. Maybe when my financial situation looks up I will be able to purchase one, thank you for your kind words.

@@dangerousmilks It sounds as if you appreciate and esteem Chloe in much the same way that I do. Literally, she is my hero. I have read everything there is to read about her on the internet (in several languages, using machine translation) and I know all of her videos extremely well. I started playing the piano again a few years ago, having dropped it for three decades. I walked into a charity shop thinking to buy a book and I came out with a piano! It was of course extremely cheap and pretty bad. But I enjoyed playing it so much that after a while I was determined not only to upgrade but to treat myself to the state of the art instrument to which I am now devoted. On that basis, I would suggest that instead of waiting for the day when you could buy a violin at least as good as the ones you used in school, you consider buying an _extremely_ cheap violin and see how you get on. The poverty of the sound won't matter at all. If you really are minded to take it up again you will enjoy and be excised by the feel of it and the (re-) learning of pieces. Doing it that way would be win-win. If (happily!) you are so minded then you get to play the violin sooner rather than later; and if (sadly!) you are not so minded then at least it won't have cost you much to find out.

Is no one going to talk about how she has to stand there for 11 minutes straight just playing in front of a lot of people who have a huge expectation from her?
@weilima93164 жыл бұрын
But look at her lovely smiles 😊. As long as she is enjoying herself.
@Sara-tr2gh3 жыл бұрын
Judging from her behavior, she clearly enjoys every second of it and that includes the applause and recognition she’s receiving after exceeding their expectations. Some children are gifted, and I bet you as a toddler/child she most likely exhibited some signs of being a lot brighter and smarter than other toddlers/children.. she was born for this I guess, look at her smiles 😂

Trust me...those 11 minutes pass by like nothing. You get lost in the music. I've had to do solo concerts with just me and a piano accompanist. I'm super shy outside of performing, and even a few minutes after getting on stage I get the stage fright. But once the conductor raises his hands in a group performance or I give the signal for the piano to play it all floats away. :)
Every time I study, I play this video but most of the time I just get distracted because the way she plays is so amazing and mesmerizing to look at

Can this be something from earth? Mouths open!! At her tender age and playing like this? What would Vivaldi do if he had the incredible fortune of listening his music like this? OMG!

"What would Vivaldi do if he had the incredible fortune of listening his music like this?" Seems pretty obvious. He'd do exactly the same as me : tear up from emotion.

Vivaldi did listen to his music played like this. He ran a music school for orphan girls, and back then you didn't get support if you didn't get results. There is no doubt he had some brilliant young musicians. This is not to disparrage this breathtaking performance by this young musician. Just saying that Vivaldi certainly had some like her also.
