Mephiles should of been in Forces. It makes too much sense. Explain that Mephiles escaped Crisis City by White Space from Sonic Generations and have Mephiles possess Infinate and use the Phantom Ruby to bring destruction and to compensate for being marooned in a dimension where he's no longer meant to exist. Sipershadowpower2 The events of Sonic 06 are not actually deleted, they are locked in a different parallel universe. When Princess Elise blew out the flame of Solaris. She created a universe where Solaris doesn't exist. But the universe where Solaris exist and the events of 06 is in the old realm of time and space just untouched, until Time Eater opened a time rift to Crisis City in Sonic Generations. It is indeed possible for Mephiles and anyone in Crisis City to escape in that time. We know it's the exact same location as in 06 because Blaze the Cat remembers and recalls it.

Mephiles could have escaped crisis city in generations, since the time eater went through the different timelines it could've broken the barrier where Mephiles and iblis were locked away in, since in generations when you play the crisis city stage you have to deal with the enemies that iblis had created since a lot of those creatures in crisis city are all part of iblis. What's to say that both Mephiles, and Iblis aren't trapped in some white void like what had happened to both Eggman, and Classic Eggman, and that they can't seem to break free until the time eater messed with time allowing Mephiles to slip out since the time eater went further through the different events that caused Crisis City to be brought back. Since everyone forgot about the events of 06 what's not to say that Mephiles would reach deep into everyones memories to have them all remember the events that took place in 06, and that now he wants revenge since Solaris can't become a thing until he manages to break Iblis out.

When you think about it, Infinite is basically a jacked up version of Mysterio: Most of his powers are merely solid illusions that a powerful enough mind can resist (Shadow broke out of his fake world quickly in Episode Shadow, even Infinite was surprised). Although they have physical form, they aren't "alive" and will vanish without the Ruby sustaining them. Even his replicas, while being as strong as the originals, are imperfect (As shown when neither the illusion Chaos 0 and Shadow used any chaos powers and went down quickly: apparently he can't seem to replicate chaos energy properly which would explain why he couldn't make any copies of Chaos beyond the form without Chaos Emerald. And illusion Metal Sonic seemed to rely a lot on Phantom powers rather than the original's speed and copying abilities). Mephiles on the other hand, while using minions, is a real threat. Hell the guy murdered Sonic in one attack, something that no other Sonic villain has achieved (Sonic got defeated, but not killed by anyone else) and forced Shadow to remove his inhibitor rings to force him to retreat.

Not only does this make sense... But honestly it should have happen... Read the Theme of Infinite lyrics.... They make it seem like Infinite was powerful foe forgotten... The song makes so many connects to Mephiles and forgetting the events of 06. And It would make his connect to Shadow even stronger and hold more weight. He can care less if Sonic, Shadow and the others forgot, he will get his revenge and take over like he planned to all those years ago...

This is really great! Also, I notice how well Infinite's lines fit Mephiles, makes me wish he was the villain of this game or at least a boss fight like Zavok and Metal Sonic. The events of 06 still exist, as the memories of those who survived the end of time, and the future that time forgot... The phantom ruby warps reality, interacting with it's constructs drags the target into a hellscape created from their own minds, and makes fears into reality, when used on Sonic, this fear is the one who killed him once upon a time, dragging a being who shouldn't even exist, back to reality, and he is angry. waiting until he can have his revenge, and reverse the changes in history.

Daniel von Strangle I mean, I actually like infinite as a character (please don’t snap my neck for saying that) but I agree. Mephiles is a badass, ruthless villain who actually KILLED Sonic. Sure, Infinite kicked Sonic’s ass 6 months into the future (not literally. It’s a reference to the fact that Infinite kicked sonic’s ass and then sonic was “tortured” for 6 months) but he didn’t actually KILL sonic. We got the blue boi back a few minutes later. Mephiles straight up MURDERED him, and we actually had to work to save him instead of just getting him back as if nothing ever happened.
