10:05 Viewing video games from the gaze of narrative and vision is a mistake. While Tyler's definitely right that great gaming experiences are more of a solo experience, the atmospheres are universal and exponentially more powerful than other mediums. While each gamer experienced their own journey, it was all in the same exact space, and that is an underappreciated aspect of digital culture. If you don't know what I'm talking about, pull up Skyrim atmospheric music and go through the comment section, or reference the Skyrim rivers video that Jeff talked about. Engaging with these digital spaces is an activity that will continually become engrained in our culture. If VR ever lifts off into the mainstream, many people will prefer to 'hangout' in the multiplayer maps and digital spaces of their childhood, because we are already culturally engrained with these spaces. Anyway, great episode. Love listening to the yearly recap pod to find interesting episodes from that year.

Hello Tyler, something you said earlier caused a small avalanche in my thinking. You said you were an info billionaire which is such a nice framing. For myself, I concluded I was approaching an info millionaire status (USD) which really raised my spirits for the month. So if you're looking for a word to call your audience, how about the info-rich or info-wealthy/millionaires/1%, etc. Love from Brasil.

I enjoyed the discussion on how a classical music piece might sell a few hundred copies, yet a review of the same piece can have hundred of thousands of listeners! Aside from reviews/summaries, what are other examples of this, where derivative of the product is more popular, or offers more value than the product itself? BTW, I also like the quote on how there's no limit to what you can achieve if you don't care about receiving credit/reward!

It may not count in a CwT canon, but the conversation with Russ on Life and Fate was one of my favorites of the year

I'm sorry but Tyler's answer on videogames is simply evidence of paradigm shifts being slow.

Great recap! Would Tyler be interested in sharing his views on AI + future of education? We recently passed 100,000 subscribers, many of whom share an interest on Dr Cohen’s work with entrepreneurial teens and the potential impacts of AI on paths to success.

Doesn't it make some sense to have relatively high barriers to entry in economics? Out of all fields, it has to be one of the most assaulted by ideologues.
