Not needed in The United States. 99.9% of your road are stupid-simple to drive in and navigate, whereas in many other places in the world, this is really helpful in many tricky situations and such. I have used this feature a lot, and I love it. Excellent. My next car will definitely have it equipped.

One big advantage worth the money: you don't need to keep bended over your steering wheel and dashboard in anticipation of high situated traffic lights turning green. You simply watch the screen in front of you.

Your manual will not tell you that you can switch the system on at random by long pressing the "car systems" button next to the "favorites" button. My dogs are a lot saver since I can see whether they are paying attention or still playing just in front of my car. This is especially helpful when going down from a flat road onto a steep driveway. Again, this feature makes the augmented reality really option really worth the money.

Probably, I am talking about the 360 degrees camera system here and not about the augmented reality system. But, anyway the manual is silent about this feature that will work only for a short while.

Yes, it should work with HUD, but it will overlay the windshield instead of Navigation screen.

Hi, can you tell me. On the brand new S-Class when navigating with Apple Carplay waze apple maps etc do you get navigation turn directions on the DRIVER display ? As far as I know only Renault do this and Apple created the feature back in iOS 9 ! Thanks

Do you mean on the Instrument Cluster? You can only see it on the Multimedia screen, which you can get as big as 12.3" inch screen size - so you should be able to see without any problems. You can see the original Navi and other stuff inside the instrument cluster... even when you use Apple Carplay or Android Auto - at the same time.

Yes, I just ordered the Dashcam on my 2021 E63S AMG. It seems like a good idea to have one for all of the usual reasons: recording traffic incidents, police stops, etc. Plus, it's a very inexpensive option, so why not?

Scratched or scuffed rim can be fixed. But if it's bent, I would replace it.

@@dionnestokes8862 It's not a regular occurrence to have 4 wheels bent unless your car was involved in some serious accident. Are you saying - all 4 metal rims are physically bent? Or, are you saying that your car is out of the wheel alignment?

Hi, can augmented reality be retrofitted in a brand new GLS that has 548 MBUX? The 549 MBUX wasn’t fitted at the factory.

For AR, your car has to be equipped with additional cameras, software and hardware. As of right now, it's not possible to add it. It has to be built-in from the factory. But it may change in future.

The dealer didn’t know about and was decided not to be fitted at the factory due to the semi conductor chip shortage. This wasn’t mentioned to us at all. Only found out after we collected the car

True, AR may not be available right now, because it requires semiconductors.

If it's equipped with MBUX, probably yes. But you would need to add camera, wiring, housing and modules. It can add up some money to spend.

No, it has to have the MBUX system and it has to come pre-built with it.

@@anjumbansal661 No, it has to be pre-built because it's not just software, but also hardware, communicating with the main computers and sensors. So the car has to come with that option from the factory, it's not possible to add it afterward.

AR is not a virtual map, it's a reality from your front facing camera of whatever happens in front of your car. AR just adds overlay of information as I've shown in this video.

I apologize I should've been more specific, when you have the AR overlaid with what you see in the front camera on the right hand side of the screen, you see the "traditional" map on the left side of the screen. Can the map on the left side of the screen be configured to be north staying up?

Yes you can. While displaying the map on your MBUX screen, touch the "gear" icon. Then go to "Advanced". There you can change the map orientation for the multimedia screen, and if you scroll down for an instrument cluster screen as well.

Augmented reality is not very useful in North America, because of the cities' regular street plain. In Europe, with very irregular street plains and roundabouts, is useful.

must not be so useful in US given the roads are generally straight (grids)with cross road junctions, Europe, UK etc have roundabouts and multiple roundabouts and multiple exits etc
