That was a hallmark of the W221. That's one of the reasons I list it as the last real Merc. Everything high-end since the W221 in any flavor has been mediocre at best. Even the C63.

Yep, there were actually two v8 diesel models in the late 2000s and early 2010s(?) I think. The first was bi-turbo, where the turbos were parallel per bank of cylinders (260ps), the second was with sequential turbos (314-ish ps, this one from the video).

the Vmax limiter stops it at 4000rpm, without the Vmax limiter it would rev to 4500 and go faster

This 2007 S class, has the same displays and airvents as my 2013 E class. S classes are always ahead of the rest. Or just follow the S class for getting a peak into the next generation of cars.

The diesel engines are the best. At low rpm, you get your top speed. Less wastage of fuel, and of course keeps the engine in good condition. And of course environment friendly. You can not enjoy such great rides in petrol and electric vehicles. As electrics are worse.

This is daily business on german autobahn. I always have my foot on the brake when a car gets closer to a truck/car and mostly in the last second they are switching lanes (because their watch on their mobile and/or sleeping)

Needs new front brake discs and a safer driver. These late brakings are very dangerous. Your distance vs speed judgements are bad.

Zu meinem vormaligen 3l cdi sehe ich da doch ein deutliches Performance Plus. Seit dem Mercedes den Stern auf der Haube abgeschafft hat und das Interieur nun das übelste und billigste Plastik ist, bin ich zu Porsche gewechselt.

That's when the cars interior design reached a peak. Nowadays they all have tablets and the interiors looks like they were designed by a 5 year old with no sense of aesthetics whatsoever.
