The blower motor works to move air through the HVAC system. If the blower motor starts making noise when you turn the fan on there is a very good chance it is starting to go bad and will need to be replaced. If the motor is not turning at all the first thing you should do is check the fuses.
The blower motor on the W124 is not quick or easy to replace but if you follow the instructions here it can be done, and you can save yourself a lot of money.
You will need to remove the mono-post wiper and motor before you can remove the blower motor. Please see our article on mono-post wiper motor replacement for additional assistance.
