Thank you for your video....But, is this the same for the electronic suspension mode for a 2012 W166 ML350 Blutech model? I thought it would have a plug in plug for the electronic adjustment level attached to the shock absorber as well???

1: you don't need to remove all the interior , just wedge them away from the top nuts struts enough to get access. 2: don't use a hammer to sent the lower bolts in(u will damage the threads) I always get the vehicle higher, use gear box jack to get the arms positioned exact , then bolts slide in without issue

Great instructions but the torque specs were incorrect - text in the video said one spec but Kyle’s voice said another. Also the units were mixed up between lb-ft vs Nm. Can someone post the correct torque specs for strut/shock top and bottom nuts/bolts?

He @Kyle - great video! A few questions - What do you think the time estimate is for doing this job if incorporating both sides, and what's the extra effort involved to do the ML63 (with ADS)?

How easy is it to get the springs out to replace at the same time. Do you need a spring compressor?
@fcpeuro2 жыл бұрын
Hi John, a hair more involved, but a floor jack/screw jack will be your friend to help lower the control arm gently and enough to release the spring. From there the reverse, using the floor jack to then raise and compress the suspension back into place to tighten everything back at ride height.

Can I replace the springs at the same time?
@wangshuokevin2 жыл бұрын
Do you need to make sure the vehicle is at ride height before tightening these bolts? Esp the lower bolt connects to the control arm.
@fcpeuro2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shuo, the goal is simply to use a floor jack to raise/lower the arm to be able to connect the lower portion of the shock. Because you are not undoing the control arms, there is no need to tighten at ride height as the shocks are designed to travel up and down. If you were to undo the control arms for this job, then yes you would absolutely want to set ride height to tighten down the control arm hardware.
