The old 1.6 Renault Diesel... 50/50 on that one. They are alright but the chains go at some point and there are other issues. Good thing they switched to the 1.5L K9K engine. Much better its a dead simple timing belt engine and probably the best engine reliablity and logevity wise in the Mercedes Family. At work we have about 20 Mercedes Citan Vans all of them have the 1.5L K9K/OM608 engine in them and we have so little trouble with these Vehicles in general. All have over 100.000 Miles and are going strong. The 1.5 dCI is one of the best modern diesels to get in my opinion.

I have Mercedes E220D, 2017 W213, I have a problem that the fan would still be running on max. speed for a 1.5 minutes after killing the engine. Knowing that the engine is Model 654. I have relaced the following parts: Fan, Turmos, Water pump, water back feed line. All original parts but the problem is still on. Also no fault found, could you please help me troubleshooting the problem? THANKS ALOT.

Do a diagnostic check on the aircon, sometimes when the aircon pressure sensor is not working it may cause the fan to malfunction like that. Hope that helps

Is engine light on? Check codes. Check temp sensor pid after turning engine off. And it cold be a circuit fault, a bad relay. Don't just throw parts on it thats unwise.
