I cant thank you enough for your videos. I watched your intercoolant flush video, and then saw this one. I have a 2013 SL550 and just did a coolant flush using another video as a guide. Your video is more informative. I was frustrated that I could not get any more than 6 quarts back into the car. I thought when I drained the coolant, 13.6 quarts would come out and 13.6 would go back in. I couldnt find this being addressed in the forums. After seeing your videos, I went out and purchased the vaccum. I am going to do the intercoolant flush, and then redo the coolant flush. Thanks again!

Thanks for a great video. I think you are losing vacuum since the conical adapter is not not airtight with the coolant bottle. Also, as you vacuum once you have filled with distilled water , do you see water coming out of the waste bucket?

Thank you so much for your comment. Everything is running perfect. No water coming out anywhere

Is it possible to fill coolant by removing outlet pipe of cooling tank,then oozed out old coolant while engine e running, subsequently flushing pour distilled water to the coolant tank . The complete flushing poured coolant water to the coolant tank then close the outlet pipe.

Thank you so much for your comment. I don’t think it would be the best approach. It’s not like we used to do it back in the day where engines and everything around it was much simpler. Is better if you get the vacuum pump. It’s not that expensive and you can sue it for any car. Also, it will take a lot less time and you’ll be sure it’s all cleaned out.

great video , it looks like the vacuum is hooked up on the driver side of the car at the end of the video ,i am confused and what is cycling the ignition for five seconds is for ? thx

Thank you so much for your comment Andrew. You are just looking at an editing error. If you look at the plate in that part of the video it’s backwards. So you are still working in the pass anger side of the car. You are cycling the ignition to make sure the computer recognizes the new level before you turn on the car. It may throw you a CEL if it doesn’t recognize it before it’s turned on.

Just non mechanic wondering. Can you not flush by flushing out via reservoir return hose and fill via reservoir?
@josecitomarin6 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment. The car has too many ups and downs in their cooling design. It takes a lot less effort, believe it or not, to vacuum the lines.

Fantastic video as always, Jose. Ques- is the only way to add coolant to use this vacuum method? Will the car not take the coolant otherwise? Thanks

Thank you so much for your comment. It’s the best way. The pump is not that expensive and it is universal. Totally worth it. You can use it on any car. And of course you can use it to do the other system as well. Even if when buying the pump is cheaper then taking it somewhere.

Hey Jose, I got a coolant line that broke and needs to be replaced which is part 222-501-41-25 vent hose, one end goes into the reservoir and the other part where it goes into a clip connector broke off, do you know what part that is by chance?

Thanks for the video. 1. Does This vehicle have a second coolant tank for an intercooler / turbo? 2. My Amg does not get to temp without the coolant tank cap on. Any experiences with that? I cannot extra burp the system because of that and get sloshing when I brake.
@josecitomarin8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment. The intercooler coolant tank is under the middle cover. To be able to get the air out, you have to vacuum the system. Check out my other video on the intercooler flush

Maybe if you sucked out via the venturi valve you would get more out and easier work?

Not very sure what you mean. But this is the only procedure that works 100% in most modern cars
