- Only works on pre-determined US highways... - But only under 40mph...!!! Make it make sense. - That'll be 2500USD/year, pls Damn, these legacy automakers are really struggling to keep up with the Musk, huh ?🤣🤣

The Merc is nice inside and out, but the tech makes me nervous. Hopefully, considering the cost you would think it should be better than Tesla.

i disagree on this. driving a car is far more than surviving traffic. i want my level 3 as a race driver!

You want the car to drive the race for you? Maybe better to just be a spectator on the side at that point.

@@bingoberra18 He means driving more aggressively for him while he's going somewhere; and I agree. Passive self driving is never going to work while we still have aggressive drivers on the road. They just get stuck waiting.

Honda has this in Japan for many years and probably first with patents even though working with GM in North America.

Quite a few car companies have had Level 3 systems in testing for years but this is the first one to have it legally in a car that a consumer can buy and use in the US.

The car has legal liability when the Level 3 system is active. The driver doesn't have to be paying attention to the road unless the system deactivates. ACC requires driver attention at all times.

This is VERY limited at only up to 40. Up to 55-65 would be a totally different story. ALSO sitting in traffic is NOT just the worst part of driving; long boring drives are also annoying. I do ton's of drives each week at freeway speed with no one on the road and it's sooooooo annoying, especially the same routes over and over again.

Will be available on the S-Class and EQS sedans delivered later this year. Cost varies by model for the optional equipment but the DRIVE PILOT system itself requires a $2,500/year subscription.
